My thought exactly Hippie. I know I never saw the episode. I just got the same email that OTWO got. I tried looking it up and couldn't find anything on it. Most of the sites that do mention it are independent run. Who knows......

NWT - Accurately translated bible rumor
by Girlie inhas anyone on here heard of this rumor or even know if this is true?
supposedly, on an episode of jeopardy, one of the questions asked was which version of the bible was considered the most accurately translated from the original hebrew and greek text and the answer was the new world translation.
i tried looking this up online to no avail.

Ok. I have seen that this question was asked on here before. I remember getting the email about this and it did mention the name of a Dr. Jason BeDuhn and how he compared the NWT with 8 other bible translations and supposedly gave praise to the NWT as being the most accurate. Yet, he is one out of many who would say otherwise....

I think the proclamation was along the lines of staying faithful to God, continue without letup to keep declaring God's message. To continue to keep on the watch, etc. etc. All I know is when the proclamation was made with a thunderous clap in agreement, I didn't clap.

Red-flag statement from site:
"Eating this fruit will prevent people from aging and dying keeping them immortal infinitely: men at the age of 347) and women - 16".
A true pedophiliac's paradise.

Has anyone on here heard of this rumor or even know if this is true? Supposedly, on an episode of Jeopardy, one of the questions asked was which version of the bible was considered the most accurately translated from the original hebrew and greek text and the answer was the New World Translation. I tried looking this up online to no avail. The sadder part of this is that I have heard "friends" comment at the meetings on this rumor as an actual truth. I suppose any good line of speculation is good enough for the WTS. Was just wondering if anyone have heard of this.

I say don't bother. Staunch believer such as this will have to come to their own conclusion once they take the blinders off their eyes.

WHAT HAS HELPED HEALED CURED YOUR BITTERNESS WITH THE BORG?
by freewilly01 inis there or has there been anything that has aided you in your quest to rid yourself of the bitterness and resentment of the jw's .
i know for some it has appeared that they have a newfound religion or religious belief, but that is not the case with myself.. for some maybe visiting these sites encourages them to shed those miserable memories?
for me it just builds more resentment.

I am not really bitter towards the borg. I haven't experienced no where near what many here have experienced. I have no animosity towards WTS. I just found myself evolving from the oppressive doctrines and lacking any real belief in it.

I believe Dagney's comment was more out of sarcasm.

where do the refinements come from?, and why do you answer thus?
by Spike Tassel inbluecanary asks [with emphasis mine]:.
in the past when god's chosen leader acted without his blessing, god corrected the individual/group in an obvious and miraculous way.
why does it appear, then, that when the gb is "adjusted" it comes from external sources, such as the 1914 generation dying off, or races integrating nationwide.

Also to include in that list Blondie is the separation of the Sheep and Goat class. One minute, it was identified and then the next, it is still to be determined. *sigh*
