  Fam'ly ambush led to reproach brought on JW brand name

  in the aftermath of the family intervention ambush, i got a phone call from my great uncle (never been a jw).

  he told me he'd heard about my wife reading my e-mail and taking it to the elders (although she didn't actually show them the e-mail, just reported its contents).

  apparently, my grandmother told him about it.

  I'm sorry sd-7 you have gone through this but I did a post just recently on"bullies", and they are the biggest BULLIES!!!!!!!!

  You are so right in keeping your cool, that way you won't say the wrong thing.

  sd-7 don't forget what you said, "they are bullies". No one treats friends or people and especially FAMILY like that. Your lucky your dad isn't a jw. I haven't looked back, there are so many genuine, loving people out in the "world". Good luck and I hope everything will work out. But don't think it will be easy as we are conditioned to think like them and you will for a while.

  i have been here since 1996, but can only post under my husband's name.

  but that is not important.. my daughter has been df'd for five years, since she was sixteen.

  My wife was disfellowshiped for about a year and went to the meetings by herself because she was shunned by her 2 children that were JWs. The kids are 28 and 24 years old. We only have been married for 18 months. She got reinstated and the elders said they would arrange for a study for her, but since she got reinstated 4 months ago, she has only been to 2 meetings and still no one encouraged her. I'm glad, because I don't think she'll go back now. She hasn't even had a phone call. (I guess they are still shunning her).

  i've just watched a program on tv about bullying (in australia).

  and my wife and i were just commenting on how much the jw's bully so many of their followers, as in shunning disfellowshiped or disassociated ones, even ones that have faded.

  their bullying tactics also invove using famiky members not to talk to them.

  Thanks for all the support, I think its good to let each other know how we feel, that way we aren't the only ones that are like that. I think its good as scott77 said about shunning them, but sometimes its difficult when there is relatives in the organization. One day things will come back to bit them.

And my wife and I were just commenting on how much the JW's bully so many of their followers, as in shunning disfellowshiped or disassociated ones, even ones that have faded. Their bullying tactics also invove using famiky members not to talk to them. How many of us wanted to just not be around any more, because of not feeling worthy, especially after trying to fade. I'm glad to know my wife and I are not alone in our feelings and there is so many good people out there.

  Thanks for those quotes Terry and as alltime jeff said (I've been thinking about this alot lately). Not one of their "prophecies" have come true. They even said well after 1914 that that was the year Jesus came to earthly power.

  we have 3 missionaries for sure and lots of bethelites.

  i was a permanent volunteer for a year in the branch in mexico.

  oh and we have one gb member :-).

  I understand where creativehoney is coming from, but I don't think that Ray would want to be revered. I am forever grateful to him and admire him for letting all know what goes on. He never insists on do what he says, but rather being true to oneself. I have so much respect for Ray and Cythia Franz.

  Welcome not sure yet. Sorry about your story belbab. Wouldn't it be nice if we could truly express ourselves and say what's on our minds and talk open and honestly about our fears and beliefs. I have the same predicament as most on here (with their family). The witnesses have only conditional love and that will always be like that. I look forward to hearing more of your experiences. lol
