Did they win. And where did you hear of this? What evidence to prove it?

I missed this one. I can't get Freeminds to work properly on my computer, so I'm on Tim's now. I wonder if this will be shown on youtube or hulu, Netflix or something. I don't recall this story before. Haven't had time to read other posts yet, so don't know if it had been well advertised before this show.

Old People ask....?
by dreamgolfer inthis is wide open for all - lets have fun!.
i will start -.
question # 1) why dont my children come see me any more?.

Funny I had just been concidering something about being older; since I've gotten older and somewhat gray, and I weigh more than I ever have, nobody asks me if I'm pregnant anymore.

Now That You're Out Of "The Truth" What Do You Do With All The Extra Time?
by minimus inlife is so short and being a witness is such a waste of valuable time.. now, i do not feel rushed or compelled to be at a meeting or out in field service.
much less stress!.

I know what you mean about no stress. I have so much less stress in my life now. Lately, I've been painting my shutters and front door (so I can have an execplary home, lol). I like to do that. It is so nice to just relax. I used to stress about weekends trying to figure out when I'd go out in service, get up early on Saturday or make it a looong Sunday. It's wonderful to truly be able to look forward to weekends now! Sometimes I actually find myself bored! That hadn't happened to me once while a jw, because if I did have time on my hands, I was feeling guilty that I wasn't out in service or whatever. It's so freeing to be free from that cult.

Latest WT: "Refusing to appear before a JC is like refusing medical treatment"
by cedars inin the latest october 15th 2012 watchtower (page 13).... "because of what they perceive as defects in the elders, some individuals who engage in serious wrongdoing in the congregation have refused to appear before a committee of elders assigned to help them.
this could be likened to a patient who loses out on the benefits of a treatment because he does not like something about the doctor.".
sounds like they're now trying to stigmatize those who try to avoid judical action.

I also think it's funny they had to put that in print. I've never seen it before. They must be having tons of faders who are doing the "fade" dance. LOL

July 15th WT - WT Society Promotes " Freedom " by using Fear & Guilt
by flipper inof course, freedom means a lot of different things to many different people.
however- to the wt society it means controlling it's jw members through fear and guilt to promote a " conditional " freedom - which turns out to not be freedom at all - just a manipulated socially restricted condition in which jehovah's witnesses are caged animals waiting for the next bit of " spiritual " food to be thrown to them by wt articles like this.. at the start of this article on pg.
7 in paragraph 1 it states that due to lawlessness, none of us have freedom to roam around at night, there are alarms, security systems - so the wt society infers we are all living in fear.

That was really something, the back and forth, trust all jws, watch out for some jws, you are bad, you are loved. Whenever I read this kind of thing I just worry about the effect on my jw daughters. Thanks for posting it. Very interesting.

Could Assemblies Be Wrecked?
by metatron inassemblies at the reading pa. assembly hall are getting disrupted repeatedly by somebody who keeps pulling fire alarms.
many witlesses blame it on "apostates" - rather than the dissolute teenagers who used to do such things in my day.. there are lots of things that so-called 'apostates' may do to disrupt assemblies including bomb threats phoned in, swat teams called, printed green insults stuffed into collection boxes etc.
add prohibitions against strollers and you have lots of reasons not to attend and thereby avoid the annoyances.

I saw some fake dollar bills somewhere online with pictures of Russel on them. That would be hilarious to put in the collection boxes!

I messed myself up...
by MC RubberMallet inthe past few weeks have been hectic.. but i went through an experience that has messed me up since.. i met up with an old friend one day who i know went apostate.
it was a really bad day for me, which was really bad for me since i've been taking ttatt as a speed bump but still moving along in life with an ok adjustment.
he since brought a really nice house, cars, new job, everything he always wanted without feeling guilt.

We all make mistakes. All we can do is learn from them. I've also read bad things about those synthetic drugs. Back when the Columbine school shooting happened, my husband, a jw at the time, but grew up in the 70's non jw, said kids should go back to smoking marijuana so they'll mellow out. Pretty true for most people, it just makes you fell mellow, like all is good. That's not what you took. Don't worry yourself over it.

You CAN continue associating with wordly/disfellowshipped family members AND get a higher education
by Anony Mous inquotes:.
-- therefore, explain that a parent's decision an a child's associates would not be based on religion, but on the young one's conduct ... it will probably help if you acknowledge that this does not mean that all other youths whom your children are around in the neighborhood or at school are no good.
some of them may be pleasant and decent, as some of your neighbors, relatives, and workmates are.

No time to read the replies, but I recall that the part about normal family ties can continue only include those family members who are still living in your household. Otherwise, nada.

A little update on my family
by sooner7nc ina few of you may remember that my wife had a kidney transplant early last year.
since then the kidney has been incredible, giving her a new lease on life.
it's really been good to see the light in her eyes that i had missed for quite a long time.. the counterpoint to this good news is the problems we have had with our son coltin.
