I'm not sure if it was Ann Landers or Dear Abby, but about two years ago someone wrote to her describing what she and her family went through when leaving their "church" . It was exactly what I was feeling and it really sounded like they had been JW's. The reply was something to the effect of ...when an organization is demanding all of your time, energy and assets that something is definitely wrong and to get out. After reading this letter I knew that I had to break completely free. It confirmed all of my feelings. I do remember that someone posted it on this board.

JW's just at my door

Thanks for the replies. Probably should just tell them that I don't wish to be called on anymore. I'm not DA'd or DF'd, just faded. After I posted this I remembered that my daughter told me that someone she knew from the KH when we used to go was calling on her at work. Wonder if they showed up there? She was just being polite to them but after watching Dateline she said she was going to tell them they were in a cult. Hopefully she will have more guts than I did. They really have no business calling on anyone at work.

Thought I was home free. These people have seen hide nor hair of me in at least four years and now they decide to come looking for me??? Must be the CO's visit because I didn't recognize the one "brother". I looked out the window, didn't answer, think they saw me, don't care. They were not working the neighborhood because they got in a van and drove away. I am really suprised at how angry this makes me. After all this time you would think that they would just mind their own business!

Hi Imissthedub. I am a night owl too. And I agree with Pat. I was a JW for 23 yrs. It's really amazing but we do not realize that our minds are being controlled while we are "in". If we did we would never have joined or would have gotten out a lot sooner. Fortunately, you saw the reality of the WBTS. Now that I am outside looking in I have a clear picture of the so called "truth".

Mother---Again
by teenyuck inmy mother called me again to talk about dateline and the fall out at the cong.
she said the elder (or guy giving the talk-i am not sure if it was book study or a meeting) read a letter from the society saying: .
"it is all apostates who are doing this".

That is wonderful news! Now wouldn't it be great if Oprah did a show on this. Your mom would eat it up!

That show is addictive! It's so funny when someone says not to touch the ceiling fan or fireplace and you just know that will be the first thing to go. One poor lady hated her finished room so much that she had to leave the room. You could hear her sobbing off camera.
Did anyone see the episode where they glued straw all over one of the walls? I think that would have made me cry!

Ozzie's Weekend Poll #5
by ozziepost inyes, it's that time again!
time to put your feet up, relax with something nice to drink, and muse over dubdom for a couple of minutes.. last weekend we asked: "what did you like most about the meetings?
" so, to be fair to objectivity, we should ask for the 'other side'.

All of the above. Missed last weeks poll. You mean to say there really was something to like about the meetings? My mind must be failing me...
