JW Apologists on YouTube and the Net becoming bolder

is it just me or are we seeing more and more of these guys?.

i have been having some extraordinary conversations with these folks lately and they are actually holding lengthy dialogues with me, one who has become "dangerous", is "poisonous", a "slanderer", etc.

according to wt.. here is one exchange from yesterday and today with a jw apologist who calls himself "warriorprince101010" who decided to call me the dreaded "a" word on one of my videos, stating that i was a "bitter apostate":.

The UN membership does not condone the UN or claim it can bring world peace, also it is old news.

The UN association, not membership, as an NGO with DPI, does require informing the public about UN activities and accomplishments. This would probably, to say the least, be seen as a disassociating offense for any JW engaging in such activity on their own. The Society not only agreed to do this by their actions, they used ordinary JWs to disseminate information about UN activities, thus involving them directly in what should logically have been considered a serious sin. 1925 is old news, too, but that doesn't mean it has no relevance or bearing on whether JWs are teaching the truth. It's part of their history, "the history of God's organization", which JWs are even now being encouraged to study even as part of Family Worship.

Name a scripture where Jesus uses the word "apostate". Is there one? Jesus spoke out against those who were hypocrites, who burdened the people with excessive rules but did not obey the rules themselves, people who thought they were better than everyone else and more righteous than everyone else. So you would have to be more specific in defining this label.

One day maybe you will understand our relationship should be with Jehovah, not people in the kingdom hall, but one to one with Jehovah through his son Jesus.

Hmm. You keep saying this sentence. I do not think it means what you think it means...

Memorial trauma-morial!

haven't been to the kh in a couple of weeks but went to the memorial along with hubby because i'm still in the early stages of my fade.. the speaker gave a really nice talk which was divided into 4 parts: why we need ransom, how it benefits us, who should partake and how to keep benefiting.

i was ok with the first 2 parts cuz he backed up with scriptures.

then the part about who should partake departed from scripture and went into this convoluted thing about how although jesus died for us, we're not to partake because jesus didn't make a covenant with us so we don't partake.

Goes to show how sick it is, that they guilt everyone about this simple matter, so that even if you wanted to partake, you're having to actually overcome fear of men to do it! If it really is a personal decision between a person and God, why do it this way? Oh, right. Everything's a personal decision, but they want to make sure they've told you what your decision should be and made you feel horrible if you want to make a different decision.

Sorry to hear that it upset you so. I'm still debating whether I'll make arrangements at home to partake. I'd rather not make a big issue out of it, though, especially because I just don't want to get into it with my wife. I don't really care whether I go to heaven or not, I just think partaking is something all Christians should do, whether it's once a year or once a week. Or once in a lifetime, even. Of course, I'm not really a Christian, per se, I'm not really anything but a bloody doormat, so...

Anyway, it does sadden me to hear that something that should be a joyful, spiritually uplifting occasion made you cry. I hope you'll find peace and the freedom to partake in private if you yearn to do so.

First mention of "new light" may appear in July 15, 2013 Watchtower

a trusted source informs me that the "new light" about the faithful slave is to make its first printed appearance in the july 15th watchtower, which should be available for download online three weeks from now, on around april 15th.. i'm led to believe that the references to the new understanding are made in such a manner as to suggest the "new light" isn't that new at all, which suggests to me that little or no effort is being made to explain the doctrinal connotations.

my source and i are hoping to get a key paragraph posted at the earliest opportunity.

Well, I'll just wait for the actual article and figure it out for myself. I respect the bravery of your source, Cedars, but I don't think it makes sense for such a person to risk compromising themselves by even talking about it in any detail so far ahead of its release. But I guess just about everyone's a better double agent than I ever was...

Hmm. There's been so much about this doctrine that it seems confusing to even ponder. But that paragraph you posted--it goes to show just how illogical this entire idea is, that even the fact that 'slave' is singular is relevant to the discussion when they're talking about several people making up one body of people... The way they're talking about it, I'm surprised they don't just capitalize the title in the literature. Because when you're talking about a composite entity, it makes me think of something like...well, like the Trinity, for lack of a better term. '8 in one', I suppose. So, then, does that mean there are actually 8 faithful slaves or just one slave? It's a mystery!

No, but someone described it well when they said it's like Captain Planet. "By your powers combined, I am Captain Planet!"

I really do look forward to it. I think after reading such a profound and deep spiritual topic, I will be moved to shame, repent of my sins, and return to Jehovah's organization, which is so clearly led by its 'faithful and discreet slave' class. I eagerly look forward to being raised to the status of a 'domestic' in God's eyes.

Hey, even I can do that one. I should totally make some. For some reason, I always seemed to forget the word "unfermented" and hear the word "cake" when I read those Bible accounts...but of course it doesn't taste like the kind of cake I would like, so... Only excuse for that is probably that I was always hungry at the meetings...or just assumed it would taste good because I wanted to make it interesting in my imagination...

EVE - not the only woman ?

the bible does not say eve was the only woman does it ?

adam and eve may have been the first human couple created, but there is nothing to say that he didn't create moret than one man or more than one woman, does it ?

Genesis 3:20 states that Adam named his wife Eve "because she had to become the mother of everyone living." This would seem to pretty clearly state that they're the only humans at this point.

The other thing about the story of Cain and Abel is that it is told in a non-specific time period, "at the expiration of some time" as Genesis 4:3 says. So, unless I've missed something, it would be pretty clear that at the very least, Adam and Eve would've had more sons and daughters by the time Abel's death happened. It could even have been possible for Adam and Eve's other kids to have had sons and daughters themselves, but there's just no specific information to go on.

With that said, I'm not saying transhuman68 is wrong or anything, because regardless it does seem clear that they were living in a populated world by that time, whether it was because of Adam and Eve's kids or some other group of humans. Seth wasn't born until Adam was 130 years old. So Cain and Abel could've been the first kids but Abel's death could've happened 20-100 years from their birth, by which time there would've been many kids, but apparently the Bible doesn't bother to follow the other kids' history beyond Seth.

i put this week's wt paragraph about disfellowshipping on my fb page and said how poor robert's family didn't even check to see whether he was dead or alive in 16 years and a friend of mine of the 'conscious class' commented about how unchristian she felt disfellowshipping to this degree is, and i agreed.. another friend, and uber-jw who has a host of illnesses and yet pioneers, who everytime she and her husband go to another congregation, if he's not appointed within three years they move to another and try for an appointment there - he used to be an elder and no one is willing to promote him again- replied to my thread.

now keep in mind she has a dfd son and she doesn't even know whether he is dead or alive, because she follows the wt to the tee.

And here I thought 'the decision had already been made in heaven'! Or that maybe the three elders make the decision to expel the person! What have I been reading in the Watchtower?? I'm so confused.

In my committee, well, I actually detailed it here on JWN, if you want to read it, under my 'Borg court' threads...I think by the end of it, probably two-thirds of the elders involved were at least convinced of my sincerity and that I wasn't a wicked person, I'd just made some mistakes and had a difference of opinion. But the chairman literally shouted 'em down (I heard him myself from the other side of the door) and I suspect (but can't know for sure) that the decision was primarily his to kick me out and the others just went along with it.

Anyone who is a JW doesn't need the elders to explain what will happen if they're DF'd. They should already have read it or been aware of it, for one.

The other thing is, can you explain to me how a difference of opinion or belief, even a minor one, requires "discipline" from elders? Even the thought is wrong, even if you kept it to yourself. When the elders called on me maybe a year or so after the DF'ing, the chairman of the committee advised me to "accept the discipline". He said this in response to my sincere expression of concern, which was that the judicial committee showed me a side of the organization I had never seen before and that it really soured me on ever wanting to come back.

So in short, the response you got is typical because it doesn't address any serious issues, it just regurgitates the programmed response and makes a sweeping generalization about DF'd people. The person who gets DF'd kind of fits in a rather wide spectrum, from the person who just doesn't care about the rules to the sincerely repentant person who just got the wrong three elders on his/her committee.

This was one of the most interesting finds that I encountered in Ray Franz' first book, Crisis of Conscience. The funny thing is that this is almost an exact cut-and-paste from a similar article on propaganda from the late 1970s. If you can find and compare the two, it looks like they just used a thesaurus to change a few words in that paragraph.
