Trinity, 144,000, Earthly Paradise, and 1914 ...hmmm

ok i read this for 2 hours now, rereading it at least 6 times... still don't get it.. i still don't believe in the trinity as god jesus and holy spirit being one.

i am starting to see how the number 144,000 can be symbolic sence the rest of revelation is symbolic.

I am starting to see how the number 144,000 can be symbolic sence the rest of Revelation is symbolic. But would this imply maybe that there is a small number that goes to heaven.

I still believe in the Earthly Paradise. It just seems to unreal to put me in a heaven but on new God managed earth that I can see.

I still don't understand why 1914 is off. Never really understood how they got that number in the first place. It's almost as complicated as believing in the Trinity.

I don't believe in hell but nobody really argued that one on this board that I saw, so I'm good. Hell is symbolic meaning grave.

...Geez I wonder if the Society made a new Revelation book again. Because I remember a couple of years back they had us tape over parts of the Revelation and then stick in some new words.

All I know is that the "truth" should be firm and no change in doctrine. That's what I got so far...

So what's your belief system? (No judging here just curious)

what bothers me most about df'ing is not only the shunning, but the constant verbal reminders (by elders and the jw pubs) that jehovah has 'taken his holy spirit' away from you.

its sad cause the whole scenario of being a jw is like living with an abuser:.

abuse: abuser comes on strong - is sweet and falls in love quickly vs jws: love bombed and drawn into the org by association.

I like how you laid out your post, babygirl30! Yelp I agree... It's pretty sad really... How they twist it and make it seem like this is being humble by taking the abuse.

i hate the watchtower.

and the governing body are the lowest lifeforms ever to crawl out of the devil's anus.

but the world really is no better & neither are ex-jdubs, despite their character building experience.. the watchtower and all other religions are pointless scumbag rackets.

lol... right creativhoney... I prob say about 3 on the side, depending on how many you can keep up with. lol (these are the "just friends" that you flirt with and go out on dates with... nothing more)

Yelp Seriously if he's interested he will let you know!! And don't be afraid to throw it out there... "Dude I'm not messing with anyone that's not into a serious relationship"... either way it goes he will try to play you or he will say "me too" and tell you about his serious relationships, and you win because he will still give you attention. Just have "a nonchalant attitude" or confidant attitude... they notice the difference.

Awww I went through that before... My advice is have lots of back up men to keep your attention... don't let them know about each other though. lol {sigh} ...the single days. Sometimes I miss them sometimes not...

i have to say, it's a bit surreal.

being raised a jw, being out now for 7 years and gradually adjusting to "normal" life.

Awww yay!! I just came across another engaged person on here! Wow how awesome!! I know what your saying, I'm currently engaged too and he is nonJW! He's the best thing that ever happened to me too! But Yay for you it so exciting and wonderful!
