Ugly Sisters
by XPeterX ino.k i have noticed that most female jws are ugly.and by ugly i mean ugly.they won't work out,they are fat and won't go on a diet (some female teens won't even shave their legs),they neglect their appearance/body in general.any opinions?.
.
p.s many will eventually get fat after marriage.

Yeah, we do like em a little healthy, or as some of my fellow brothas will say.............she's thick. To add my two cents, I don't see a difference physically speaking between JW women and non JW women. There's fat JW women, theres fat nonJW women. There's hot ones, there's below average ones. The one difference I will acknowledge though is mentally, nonJW women have their head in a different place than JW women. As a single JW male, when I meet JW women, they come off like an interview. I can't just have a normal conversation with them, because they're too busy giving me their spiritual resume. I don't want to discuss how you're planning on auxilliary pioneering in the Ozarks, Arkansas. Whereas when conversing with nonJW women, its just a normal conversation. The other thing is, I get a kick out of intelligent women, not that you won't find that amongst JWs, but nonJW women have degrees, are career minded, independent, etc., and those are the sort of things I find attractive. I work in and office enviroment, and I love these professional women. You don't see that amongst hardcore JW women because its discouraged. They're too busy looking for a Pioneering partner, or some guy who'll work full time while she pioneers. That's not for me. And sad for me, when I do run into a JW woman not like typical JW women who I find attractive, chances are she's getting her fade on, while I'm fully entrenched, at least entrenched at this time.
But sticking with the thread topic, there's no real difference physically speaking between JW and nonJW women. At least I don't see it that way.

It was a "warning" against being complacent and thinking that "we got the goods, no need to worry".
I agree with you on that end of things. The only thing I'm questioning lately is, was the warning for "my generation?"

I always looked at it as a general mood or feeling. Jesus said it would come like a thief. People would be buying and selling, marrying, etc.. I view it as it would be similar to how Babylon fell, they were partying, and left the doors to city open. I hear JWs say they can't wait until the day comes when someone specifically states, "Peace & Security!" My father till this day, tells me I hope they utter those words soon. He's in 70's, and been waiting for 40-50 years. I've never viewed it in that fashion. Although lately I have to admit, I'm starting to wonder if none of that stuff was written for us, but rather it was to only mean something to those living back then.

I don't know why people are so keen to forgive and forget about his appalling behavior - the only thing he was sorry about was getting caught and losing money.
LOL, why does he owe anybody an apology other than his wife, family, and sponsers? People forget and forgive? Who cares. Seriously, no disrespect toward you, but this comment sounds like something a scorned woman would say. This comment and a couple others leave me with the impression that it upsets some of you that they're not flogging him. Get over it already LOL. I picture some of you storming to your rooms, pouting like, "if nobody else finds this upsetting, well so be it!!", as they slam the door and go to bed. Another thing, how didnt he show class? He answered the reporter's question about his(as in Tiger's game) The question was addressed to Tiger about Tiger!!!

Cult Classic, thanks for sharing. Being a born-in myself, pretty much every thing you wrote I can relate to. Especially about not having a past that isn't tainted by the WTS. I know that feeling of being cold and lonely all too well. What you said about "being on with a smile", I wish I could say I didn't know what you mean. At least though, you're not defeated, as you say, this is your story, "so far." I get the feeling its going to have a beautiful ending. The inspiring part of your story overshadows the haunting part. I'm glad I got to read about it. It encourages me.

Would You "Technically" Remain A Jehovah's Witness If There Were No Sanctions Involved?

we know it isn't the truth but we might not have officially resigned as jws.
many catholics are nominal catholics and they are not shunned or avoided because of their not going to church or confession.. would you remain a jw if the organization didn't punish you for your inactivity?.

The comments on this thread demonstrate exactly why the GB will NEVER back off on treating disassociated ones like disfellowshipped ones. Also why they stigmatize those that considered spiritually weak.
