2010 memorial partakers?
by isaacaustin innot sure if this was previously posted...but how many partakers were there this year?
thoughts on if they are headed to making this number symbolic while still stressing earthly hope?
or simply leaving it as a literal number and claiming both groups gathered concurrently throughout time?

Would WT-Fantasy Videos Keep Kids in the Truth?
by compound complex inif the society put out theocratic warfare videos, it would really help jw youths stick around, imho.
in place of commercial videos that are violent and suggestive, wt-sanctioned videos would supply a viable, healthy alternative.
accordingly, concerned and thoughtful witness parents could participate with their little warriors in theocratic warfare videos as virtual ot prophets wipe out the dread canaanites, zimri and cozbi take love to new heights and the beasts of revelation devour their quarry .... and the parents count their time.. any other thoughts regarding family worship night and related meeting parts?

I think its unrealistic that the WT would produce fantasy videos to retain born in youth. However, I will admit that JWs have a smug dehumanized view toward nonJWs. I always found it odd that from the platform and in the literature, we're admonished to give the ministry our all because we love our neighbors so much. We imitate the love Jesus had by preaching the good news! At the same time we're hoping and praying that soon Jehovah will destroy every single one of them. I've read posts on here about JWs fantasizing about what house they'll occupy after Jehovah destroys unbelieving householder. Talk about mixed messages, especially if you're a kid trying to make sense of it all emotionally, while trying to please your parents and please the WT's interpretation of God and Christ.
A couple years ago at the District Convention, I can't recall which one, but at the beginning of a Drama, it depicted two Israelite kids playing in the dirt or sand. They were pretending that Pharoah and his army were in the middle of the split walls of water in the Red Sea. Then they imagined and played out how the waters came down drowning all of the Egyptians. They did this much in the same way I used to play with Ninja Turtles, or Transformers on the side of my bed as a child. Now there's nothing in the Bible to indicate Israelite children were doing this, but when has the WTS ever allowed a lack of evidence to ever stand in the way of their indoctrination.
So regarding JWs being pacifists, that may be true in the sense of wars and other social conflicts. However, make no mistake about it, the mentality of violence is present in the minds of many JWs. It's been posted on here before, an older article on disfellowshipped ones, particulary apostates, and it left the reader under the impression that the WT leaders wished they could legally get away with executing apostates. It didn't actually come out and say it, but you knew without a doubt the writer had a violent animosity in his heart the day he wrote that. You know what, the more I'm typing, maybe the threadstarter has a point. I can sort of see a Lord of the Rings or 300 type of DVD being done on a topic such as Sampson as another poster mentioned, or maybe the crazy illustrations in Revelation. Who knows.

After reading all of that, its as if they're running out of ideas up there. They've been making it up as they go along, but its more apparent than ever. They're not even creative anymore.

A "Funny" Thing Happened On the Road to Damascus...
by AGuest into the household of god, israel, and those who go with... may you all have peace!
as you may or may not be aware, i recently posted a thread regarding the relevancy of the name of our lord.
in that thread, and one or two others, i mentioned the language of our lord... and thus, the accurate rendering of that name.

That was another nice, loooong, post there AGuest. I'd like to say I read it, but I'd be lying because I didn't. I don't have to. You're a freakin nutcase, a self-aggrandising egomaniac with delusions of self-grandeur. You're coo-coo for cocoa puffs, you're a fruit loop without the milk.
You need to find yourself a nice padded cell with some nice men in white coats that can administer you some tasty Lithium, cause you need it. The voices in your head that you claim to be from YHWH God? That's your psyche slowly cracking your personality from within.
In short, you're a loon - get some help.

"Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers"
by EndofMysteries in2 cor 6:14 .
always been given that scripture about marrying someone who is not a jw or same belief.
while that may be true, i just realized when reading vs 14-17 that was talking about the congregation.

Even if we applied it to marriage, in the first century, all that was necessary for being a Christian was belief that Jesus is the Christ and the only way to gain access to God the Father. Not belonging to a specific group of Christians who bear a specific organizational brand name. So if we actually used this concept in terms of what the Bible actually says, Christians would just be limited to marrying other Christians. Sounds like a good deal! A lot more options that way.
Furthermore, even if marrying a non-Christian was forbidden, does the New Testament contain any punitive measures to be doled out if someone chose to do so? No. That being said, it seems more logical to let people make their own decision on that. After all, Paul said women should not speak in the congregation, but they sure speak during JW meetings. How far do we go with turning Paul's letters into a new Law? It can get to a rather murky place, if you ask me.

More AGM News- spiritual matters (with paragraphs this time!)- disregard other epic fail post!!!!
by yknot ini always find it interesting how emails vary in perception.
two more 'snippets' have arrived and i am posting them for forum consumption (this is still technically 'spiritual food') and discussion.as with the last thread, the original author and those they emailed are not responsible!
i was like 4th/5th on the chain of these emails and none knew of my intent to reiterate the contents here in cyberspace.

What really bothers me about this developement if you will, is how they print articles about the need for our love and worship to be genuine. They emphasize that Jehovah reads hearts and won't accept worship that isn't from the heart. One of the old songs had the lyrics, "I want to" which if my memory serves me correct was a song about genuine love and adoration for God, his laws and principles, and fellow believers. Now they go completely contrary to all of that by pressuring JW relatives in good standing to pull a bait and switch with DF'd relatives. The bait being able to have a normal family relationship based off of genuine love. The swich being conditional love based off of what the formerly DFd relative does outwardly to make the appearance that he/she believes in God, and recognizes the WTS as His chosed organization. Its sick. The only thing they'll accomplish with this is a bunch of families with more unnecessary tention and strain, undercover apostates, and more people going on Zoloft, Paxil, Prozac, Effexor XR, etc..
By the way, is the song "I Want To" in the new book?

So if it lost all religious meaning, like pinantas, it should be up to the member's conscience.
You would think, but that wouldn't stop the powers that be in WT-Land from using the "stay seperate from the world" argument, or the "greedy commerce" argument, etc..
