What's there to understand about something as silly and proposterous as evolution? Something came from nothing, pulease!! Give me a break!! Next you'll tell me houses and watches weren't built, they evolved over thirty years. Ridiculous.

What is even more nuts than picking the pepperoni off the pizza is ordering pizza with pepperoni in the first place if you are just going to pick it off.
LOL. In the city where I reside there's a neighborhood with plenty of Jewish and Middle Eastern folks, many are students. There's several pizza shops in this neighborhood, and its hilarious looking at all the young Jews and Muslims who eat pepperoni pizza. I'm thinking to myself, "fellas thats pork!! You're not supposed to be eating that!!"
Speaking of pizza.......time for lunch!

recall when I first joined the cult in 1983 all the JWs used to pick the pepperoni off their pizzas because it contained "by-products" which might include blood. I thought this was crazy, but went along with it when other JWs were around. I harboured the "secret sin" of eating pepperoni when I was alone, but I always kept a wary eye open for any JWs who might see me. I was very happy when an elder told us he called the Pizza Hut head office and was assured there was no blood in the pepperoni. We all went to Pizza Hut after field circus and openly ate pepperoni on our pizzas.
Now I try to avoid eating meats that appear to be 'prefabricated', both for health reasons and flavour. I prefer to grind my own meat and make my own sausages, burgers, etc.

What?!?!? Wow, I never heard of this practice. Every day on this site, I find something else crazy about this kooky religion. Whatta bunch of nuts!!!

Morality: Is it common sense? Instinct? Or from God?
by PublishingCult infrom where do we get morality?
we know the god of the ot was very immoral.
he sanctioned murder, slavery, rape, human sacrifice, and other really bad stuff we'd go to jail for today.

think morality evolved based on this sort of enlightened self-interest, as did a lot of human behavior.
I like how you put that. Heck even the Bible tends to support that when you consider how the Israelites initially applied the Mosaic Law, and how things changed when Christ put meaning into the Law with love and forgiveness being at the forefront.
Our enviroment and upbringing plays a huge role as well. I remember reading about a prison gang member who stated that he has morals, just not your morals. Even looking at Nietzshce's thoughts an argument can be made that his thoughts on morals played a role into the rise of individuals like Hitler. Was Hitler immoral? Maybe by your standards, but to his countrymen at the time he was their Fuhrer. Ghandi is respected for his peaceful protests against British imperialism and the divisions between his people as affected in his country. However, Ghandi was also a proponent of the caste system in India.

Phah!! So what if the kid taught himself Calculus, Algreba, Geometry, Trigonometry in a week. So what if he graduated from high school at age 8, and has been studying Astrophysics in college since age 9. He's still going to be destroyed by Jehovah for not searching for the deeper things of God as found within the Watchtower magazine.
I can explain the meaning behind "this generation", and he can't. Its gonna suck to be him real soon at the great day of Jehovah!

apparently we had just been nailing the final nails in the blood doctrine (by way of discussing the wts flip-flopping) and discussing the (un) scriptural reason for the wts banning of beards.
i was surprised by how few the responses were and the ones that were there were very weak and not to the point.

I've got one that can see!
by Mr. Falcon inyesterday, there was a thread concerning the recent important discovery they found in the middle east.
if proven to be authentic from the correct time-period it would signify that early christians did indeed use the cross as part of their religion.
we all commented about how if this does indeed turn out to be true, the wtbs and it's jws will either shrug it off or simply come up with some bizarre conspiracy story.. so i decided to test the waters a little.

She said "Do you really think that Jehovah would let them find something like that?"
That's classic.

The real story about the tea party movement
by lifeisgood ini started this thread because some people are telling lies in another thread about the tea party.. i am one of the volunteers that helps arrange and put on tea party rallies in southern mississippi.
we do not have a membership roll.. we are not a political party.. we have one basic issue that we are addressing, which is: we want federal spending to be lower than federal revenues.
we do not say how this is to be achieved.. some liars on this site are claiming that the tea parties are actively pushing to achieve the balanced budget by cutting only liberal policies.
