  Okay, my experience with the food while visiting England was very good, if you knew where to eat. Pub lunches, very nice.

  Our tradition after the meeting on Sunday was a Pub meal. And no one judged me for having a 2nd ale.

  I remember asking if it would stumble others if I went for another pint? The JW next to me said, "please, by all means, stumble us" As he offered to pay for the next round.

  Next time, I will share how I met the queen after a Pub lunch near Whitehall.

  I guess it turned out much worse than the early reports.

  I found it interesting to see the Tsunami Warning Center posted data. Much faster than the news org. of course.

  You can only imagine how terrifying it would be for those victims.

  We met a JW in Maui who shared her parents experience in Hilo and how they almost drowned in their house. They said the water kept rising with their heads touching the ceiling, before the water level went down.

  the past several kingdom halls i've beein in (in the us) were all decorated the same way.

  one wallpaper below the wainscoting.

  I built many a KH in the RB program and can say I was never impressed with the looks. True you can't please everyone but.....

  Especially the outside landscaping. I go by my old KH because its on the man road here. It still has the same old dying looking schrubs in front. Looks terrible. How they keep them looking so bad has to be a miracle of sorts.

  For people who are so concerned with PR, it befuddles me.

  Two of note I liked ...to be fair.

  1. An old adobe one on the Hopi Indian Reservation, with Hopi beamed poles in the ceiling.

  2. The Carnarvon(?) KH in Whales in the old city, very historic looking.

  The 4 Sexual Deviants

  newer visitors to this board may not be aware of the fact that the first 4 watchtower leaders were all sexual deviants.

  i cannot for the life of me figure out how the creator could have personally selected these 4 men as leaders of his only true religion to be examples for all of the faithful.. i especially cannot figure out how the creator would figure these 4 sexual deviants should be used to give sexual marital advice and advice on raising children, since only 1 of the 4 had a kid and he pretty much abandoned that kid for a good part of the kids life.

  also, he was the only one who had ever actually had sexual relations although they were mostly adulterous ones.. charles taze russell took "the vow" before his marriage to maria.

  I went back to reread your Knorr take. You implied rather strongly his homosexual tendencies, similarly to a way someone who gossips, wanting others to draw wrong conclusions.

  Russell was caught kissing a 20 year old women on his lap? Try that and see how long before your wife serves you with divorce papers for adultery.

  Rutherford later lied in his booklet saying it was a little girl and it was a good night kiss. Rutherford new what was going on and was willing to lie about it.

  Just about everything I've learned about the GB from this site, shocking as it may be, has been proven true.

  Not that I was holding on to my old JW faith in defense of them. It just seemed so extraordinary to be true.

  Russell portrayed as the kindly old god-fearing gentleman - an adulterer and liar (True)

  Rutherford used by god to separate the JW's from Babylon? - Adulterer, drunkard, full of hate for his brothers, smoked, liar (True)

  Greenlees, a marvelous speaker - Child molester (True)

  Chitty - dismissed for drunkenss, maybe gay? (True)

  And yet, as bad as they were, its the cover up and lies by the current GB that is just as dispicable

  Knorr is the only one I personally knew.I worked with him on something just before he died.

  Those are new charges I've never heard before. Like the others, they seem extraordinary. But the others proved true.

  I do know he married suddenly (was it to cover up his homosexuality?(ala...Rock Hudsen at the time) His wife lamented, she didn't have a husband. I always took it as he was married to the org.

  She quickly had a boyfriend after he died.

  Knorr talked intimately about marital bliss. (was he just wishfully boasting?)

  The jury is still out on Knorr for me, but my eyes are opened and my hears are still listening.

  just asked a loyal dub i know why has the org now given out a song book, with so many songs taken out?

  she looked at her convention notes and replied that the soceity said that some of the songs in the old song book were too difficult for new people to learn to sing.. and this was said with all seriousness... she totaly brought it!.

  Whoopi has been on the record of supporting victims of child abuse but when its her friend??? Incredible.

  happified is a real watchtower word(tm), by the way!.

  if you want to give the wts credit for anything, then at least give them credit for their remarkably simple solution to every ill suffered by mankind.. it is a "one size fits all" solution and might be part of the appeal the wts has attracting people who have a hard time with reason and common sense.. they won't specifically tell you what that solution is, though.

  if they did, they would even get less converts than they get now, and currently they ain't gettin' many.
