  A relationship question for middle aged men

  my dilemma...i have enjoyed a very fun and active dating life these last four years of freedom.

  most dates end by me moving on (always another fish out there).

  last fall i started dating someone i really like (as in i would like a commitment).

  Let's see, I'm middle-aged, but been married for 34 years, so I don't quite qualify as an expert.

  But as the saying goes.....

  "Never let school get in the way of a good education, nor marriage in the way of a good relationship."

  Okay, I just made that up. But has your man experienced somthing bad in his life, perhaps his parents having problems? And is afraid to commit to anything deeper?

  Time has a way of working these things out. Things can happen naturally as time goes on...or not at all.

  So what is Ann Launders 'dissed' saying? Give it some more time Magwitch

  Where's Moshe when you need him?

  as predicted, two jw's came to the door today to invite us to the memorial.. fortunately for them, i was in the middle of painting, was a mess, was not about to stop and get cleaned up to talk to those guys.. my wife did the honor for me, and said she wasn't interested.

  what's interesting, she offered, was they were two young guys she didn't recognize.

  yet, they were here specifically to say 'we'd love to have you come'.

  More to add:

  My wife refused the tract respectfully. But later we found a copy placed under the 'Welcome Mat' Those buggers, they sneaked one in after it was refused.

  What ever happened to the 'do not feed your pearls to swine rule'? And no, I'm not reffering to my wife. Just they are not to waste literature. WT Sacred rule #3321

  A Paradox for JWs and other religious people

  i was raised a jw and left nearly 15 years ago before/when i went away to college.

  since then, i have had nothing to do with organized religion (or non-organized religion, for that matter).

  in my experiences, fervent religious belief has not correlated well with things such as critical reasoning ability or secular success as measured by profession, level of education, income, etc.. i was browsing the blog of a semi-well-known guy who has worked in some of the same fields as me and came upon the following passage:.

  Amazes me how elders act.....

  most of you know that my husband (iron hill) and i have been trying to do the fade from the witnesses....here's the update!

  my husband's ex wife who is disfellowshipped decides all of a sudden that she wants to get reinstated - i guess cuz we decided not to go anymore - and the guilt of their daughters dying in armageddon is killing her.

  but anyway, she asked us if we would be ok with her coming and taking the girls to the meetings on the weekends that are ours.....my husband denied.

  And don't forget, the Elders in a JC, are similar to the Nazi's Gestappo. They do what they please, and answer to no one.

  They will justify any course of action they take, and some how, have lost whatever conscience they had.

  Melbourne Australia weather right now....what's your weather like today and where are you?

  took my dogs for a walk on a beatiful mild sunny day 24 degrees.

  winter is coming soon so i cleaned our wall heater!

  i have never seen snow here but our cars and lawns can frost over with cold night temps so hows your weather?.
