Coffee Drinkers...... Why do you drink coffee?

i am asking because i don't get the appeal!.

(preface: at hospital today, can't leave floor to get another h20 bottle, just tried drinking coffee again for the first time in 14years).

Whynot - You maybe in the minority....but we still like you.

Its the quality of the coffee making process that works for many here. It should taste like the aroma it produces.

Freshly roasted beans, freshly grounded for each cup, at the right consistency, brewed quickly with water over 200 degrees, can make for one very nice cup, meant to sip, saver, and enjoy. In fact proper coffee can lead to wholesome meditated feelings of warmth and satisfaction.

Coffee Black - My wife is Swedish as well, and taught me the Swed's tradition of strong yet smooth and rich dark coffee.

Are you sure you're not confusing the coffee subject with something else? Like maybe tea...

i decided to update my resume and realized that i have to take out a couple of things.

my pioneer school under education and bible instructor under volunteer experience.

i can't believe i actually put those on there and got hired.

Uhm...maybe I can add this to my resume in hopes to get a position in management.

- Able to organize large groups of differing individuals in door to door sales canvasing and make decisive, well thought out solutions, and make resolutions to overcoming objectives.

Also, am highly skilled in life and death situations, with years of experience in deciding and discerning what is really in peoples hearts. A must in today's corporations in determing loyalty from its employees.

Have the ability to spy, gather facts, real or imagined, investigating possible future employees or those in-line for advancement or demotion. Have no conscience, no heart and can be used to terminate employees without any problems whatsoever.

As always, a company person, my motto being, "My company right or wrong, as long as I get my paycheck"

when in field service, was there any stupid rules that had to be followed?

i was reading the topic on sisters having to sit in the backseat even if it was their car.

made me think of a few rules i was subjected to.

one was we were not allowed to have a radio on.

Undercover - Your observations can be very funny......

Before the mini-vans, we had the VW vans in our rural territory. You could easily get a very long nap in between your turns to talk.

Dancing with some JW friends tonight

i was walking past a bar tonight and recongised some old jw friends inside dancing to a live band.

i went in an attached myself to them and spent the night with them.

it was quite funny as they were very comfortable with me but also exuded unsure guilt about the whole situation.. it seems to stress jws when we seem exactly the same as before.

In our horse business, we occassionally run into a JW couple who are also in the business.

She is open and friendly, while he, you would think is about to explode when he sees us. What's funny, is that she could care less what he feels, as her and my wife talk horses.

She is an excellant horse trainer and we hired her to help with a horse. The Elder husband kept his distance and stays quiet, probably seething that they needed our money. lol

My wife is always respectful and greets him. While he begrudgingly nods back.

How I obtained my personal files from Bethel

it has taken me a long time, but i have finally put together an article outlining how i used the law to force bethel to send me my personal files.

in brief, in 2006 i requested that bethel send me my files on the basis that the australian privacy act 1988 entitles people to receive a copy of any information a corporation holds about them.

I was in a territory where we were not allowed to wear a tie. Even the CO when visiting had to take off his tie in FS.

But heaven forbid, if you had a two door car.......

New Here....and a Brief Intro

after lurking around here for about a month, i thought it's appropriate to introduce myself to such fine group of people.. i was never a jw.

been married to a baptized mate for over 15 years.

my wife was never technically all in, more of a fader, rarely went to meetings, the occasional memorial, a convention once or twice.

You would think if a 'Bible study' said they wanted to read the Bible through, a JW would be happy. "That's great!. Let me know if I can help you in your research" But they take it personal, don't they?..."You don't want to study with me?!"

Ynot - Hubby dips on occassion?

I did a little work one time with the husband of my wifes Bible study. He was 'dipping' on the job and then had an epiphany, 'I could tell my wife and she could tell his wife'. "Please don't tell her I'm doing this?!" He promised her he had quit a long time ago.

I asked him why he didn't quit. It had nothing to do with addiction as he told me. It was a guy thing, and all the guys did it. Plus, the peer pressure, "Don't let your wife tell you what to do"

So my thinking, he was more concerned what his buddies thought than his wife, who was more concerned about his health and example for the kids.

I lost both my parents to smoking related cancer and heart desease, my older brother as well, and my younger sister has cancer from smoking. You would hope people would learn.

Hey my father was so addicted, if he had to choose between food for the family and cigarettes, he would choose cigarettes, which he did on several occassions.

My daughter when 6 asked my boss why he smoked? He made some excuses, and then she said she never new her grandmother because she died from smoking. "Don't you want to quit?"

He rebuked me for her saying this stuff. I told him, she's only doing this because she likes you and wants to see you live a long life.
