  as i read the ray franz books a couple years ago, he mentioned several things that i had personal knowledge of.

  this really gave a ring of truth to everything he wrote, even if there were some things that couldn't be verified.

  one thing was the idea that some of the gb thought sputnik was a signicant event marking the last days.

  As I read the Ray Franz books a couple years ago, he mentioned several things that I had personal knowledge of. This really gave a ring of truth to everything he wrote, even if there were some things that couldn't be verified. One thing was the idea that some of the GB thought Sputnik was a signicant event marking the last days. This was not offically taught. BUT, I personally heard Schroeder present this idea from the platform at a special event (as they were called in the day). It was in Pocatello, Idaho.

  JW's had always said Ray's books were full of lies. But several small things like this that I personally knew were true really helped me trust the content of those books.

  I've been outed...

  so this weekend my wife had a major grand mal seizure for the first time in her life.

  she was rushed to the er.

  a few hours later while i was at her side she had another major one.. it was the scariest moment in my life.

  Please don't give up. Hang on buddy. We can get such pain from all of this, I know personally. Getting some professional help was key to me. and I only went for about 6 sessions. There will be better days. You can find a new normal.

  If it is true that he is gone.....I will say this.

  Jack Barr was a very kind man.....but as Barbara Anderson has pointed out......he certainly was a follower.....not the type to stand up.

  I have seen that type on many elder bodies......nice but go with the flow.

  I must say that if you insist on being wrong.....better to be nice brother Barr than the likes of Rutherford, Knorr, Freddie....etc

  Well....I recently moved 10 miles out of the territory and so heven't been to a meeting in 3 months. Guess when elders call my cell phone?......aroung the 5th of each month wanting my time.....haha typical.

  I bump into my elder buddies sometimes and am very friendly and conversant about the weather and other such deep matters.....:) Looks like I will always have family in so things will be a little tricky.....especially if/when I find a new sweety. It will be tough if she wants to celebrate holidays and my family sees....oh well....maybe I can find a nice asian or jewish girl. Witness family would be more accepting of that circumstance than marrying a different brand of Christian.....haha

  Asked a co-worker to join Egg and me for my BD dinner...

  he's a guy and upon request, he gave me his e-mail address so he could give me a yes or a no to my invitation to join us tonight for dinner.. after i asked him if he'd like to join us, he snickered and said i don't know.

  give me a couple of hours to think about it.

  i asked him four hours later if he had decided, yet, but he hadn't even thought about it yet.. i said that it's not a test question, no right or wrong answer.. he asked where and i said it's a nice place uptown.. he said that he needed to think about it because of the dress up thing.. i said he didn't need to dress up, that just slacks and a nice shirt would do.. that was two days ago, and i haven't heard back from him, yet, although i did e-mail him so he could let me know.. i'm the wheels for the evening, so i needed to know so i could pick him up, or not.. does no answer (seems like avoidance) mean no, or is there some other excuse that might (wanna say rescue his ass but won't say it) be plausible?.

  this is about my being disfellowshipped , what led up to it, how i felt during it and what happened after.

  it has been over 25 years since i was disfellowshipped so this piece of the story has taken a long time to write.

  How many times have I sat on a JC and been"helping a couple". I never had a clue what the wives really felt.....why they seemed so trodden down. I'm so sorry I ever participated.....

  I'm just so grateful that you have recovered and can be such a giving and forgiving person....please understand that many of us elders (especially if "raised in the truth") were just mindless and controlled too....not that I'm excusing myself.....

  I feel very guilty and have contributed to losing my dear wife and marriage too....we are still friends....she's out of the borg too...we both faded. I see more than ever what this religion has done to the women.....I'm so sorry.

  4 of 'shepherding the flock of god' by the wts is part of their worldwide non profit bible educational work which is supported by voluntary donation but not required in order for a publication to be placed with 'rightly disposed' persons.. chapter 4 addresses "assisting those who are weak" and is required reading prior to the ks.. it is the hope of this thread to assist those preparing for ks as well and assisting the wts in educating those about the responsibilities and directions elders must adhere.. here are the previous discussion threads:.
