due to health issuse my wife, myself and daughter take medications.
my wife kathy takes about 12, the daughter 6 or 7. i have 15 meds to take in a days time.
all of them are kept seperate in a lock box to which kathy has the key.
If you're on 15 other meds and took oxy by mistake, you should talk to a doctor or pharmacist to be sure there's no interaction with anything else in your system. Get on the phone, please!

(a little background info before i ask my question...).
my sister-in-law (non-jw), who manages a popular chain restaurant near a kingdom hall, just found out that my wife and i have recently faded, so she decided to get something off her chest the other day... you guessed it: she wanted us to know that jws are the worst customers ever!
she then told us some really embarrassing stories about how jws would request a table for 15 to 20 people (after a sunday meeting) and then (when the bill came) some of the jws would start deliberating amongst themselves on whether or not the waiter was diligent or not (to justify the low tip he was getting anyway).

I have put two-and two together and realised that this is the practice that is known as 'marking'. It felt like everything about me was being watched.
They slipped up when they let you experience that before you committed. I heard my Ex talking about somebody at the hall being "marked", and saw how she suddenly refused to answer phone calls from another lady who just a few weeks before had been her best friend from the Kingdom Hall. Seeing this marking and shunning in action is one major reason why I wanted no part of the Watchtower organization. Another was when an elderly gentleman from the local congregation died from internal bleeding after surgery because he refused a transfusion.
So congratulations for getting out in time, before major damage could be done!

Didn't Charles Taze Russell get some of his ideas about Christianity from the Adventists?
That is right, but it was an earlier version of Adventism. The Second Adventists, followers of William Miller, are the common ancestor of both the Seventh-Day Adventists (founded by Ellen White) and also the Bible Students of Charles Taze Russell. Other groups that sprang from Miller's Second Adventists are Christadelphians and the Branch Davidians.
Many would argue (and I agree) that the Watchtower/Jehovah's Witness organization is a different faith, an offshoot of Russell's Bible Students. Though they pay him honor as their founder, the Watchtower now considers many of Russell's teachings and practices to be heretical. Some remaining Bible Student groups, not affiliated with the Watchtower, remain closer to Russell's original teachings.
