Freeing a slave requires a payment, and Jehovah has made the payment that can save us from those dreadful consequences.
Jesus died to make that payment, so this sentence in the WT article admits that Jesus = Jehovah!
As always, thank you Blondie.

how well is this territory being covered?.
how many on here (active jws excluded) received an invitation?.
None for me!
the weather over here is nice, and i'm ready to cash my chips in and say that spring is officially here.
yesterday, i saw a spider, and i don't mind spiders, but he was a little healthier than typical, and i stepped on him, wiped the mess with a paper towel, and threw it in the rubbish.
this morning i got up and saw a ladybug on the wall.
Ladybugs eat aphids, and that's just fine with me.
But when it comes to spiders, I'm with Garfield (Splat!)
i have $10 sears gift card for tools, but i am not sure which tool that i would be interested to purchase.
any suggestions?
thanks!.
I like Sooner's choice, I bought the similar version 40 years ago and still make good use of it. It's a nice assortment of quality, basic tools for much less than the individual prices. Don't bother with low-end tools, you'll soon have to replace them when they break or wear out.
If cost is an object, then look for a packaged set of screwdrivers, pliers, etc. That usually is a better deal than buying one piece at a time, though probably not as good as the comlete set.
If you don't mind waiting, Father's Day will be coming up in less than two months. Tools are often on sale for the occassion.
From Sirach 6:
[5] A kindly turn of speech attracts new friends, a courteous tongue invites many a friendly response.
...
[14] A loyal friend is a powerful defence: whoever finds one has indeed found a treasure.
[15] A loyal friend is something beyond price, there is no measuring his worth.
[16] A loyal friend is the elixir of life, and those who fear the Lord will find one.
[17] Whoever fears the Lord makes true friends, for as a person is, so is his friend too.
my last update on my daughter was so good...but it didn't turn out that way.
she was cleared to go back to work, but with limitations... she couldn't lift more than 10 pounds.
her employer wanted her back but wouldn't agree to the lifting restriction.
That is sad news, coffee_black. I hope her blood sugar gets under control, so the surgey can proceed. You and Ali are remembered in my prayers.
the second jw woman is the typical "i'll show you", jw know it all.. .

Her reaction is not surprising, sadly. The WT armors them with that persecution complex, where anything that hints at opposing orthodoxy according to the Watchtower turns on the defenses, convincing them they must be right because a representative from Babylon the Great is attacking them. As others said, you can't convince them until they are ready to listen to you.
... of the opposite sex?.
it was the summer of 1966; i was a few months shy of being 13; it happened on our church ground.. i was hurrying between two vehicles to get into the building, when someone blocked my way.. annoyed, i looked up to find this cute, cute guy looking at me appreciatively.. he asked my name.. i froze and blushed profusely, agitated and confused at the tingling feeling in my tummy.. i didn't bother to answer him, but turned in the opposite direction and rushed into the safety of the church.. i sat down beside my mother, took her fan and fanned myself furiously!.
afterwards, i told an older sister about the incident.. she gave me an envious stare and chided me for being so doggone shy.. ah, memories .... syl.
PS: Where are the guys???
Where we always are at high school dances when the girls start chatting, over on the other side of the gym!
I was out of college, she was a sister in law of a friend of a friend's wife (we were all neighbors in the apartment complex). We didn't have nearly as much in common as we thought, besides a case of hormonal blindness. It didn't work out or last long, and that's probably just as well.
i figured i'd start off by just examining the language used in the july 15th, 2011 watchtower, page 15-16, paragraphs 4-7.. apostates are like:.
1. ravenous wolves.
9. their own ideas.
1. cunning spirit
2. corruptive ideas
3. clandestine manner
4. subtly introducing
5. false arguments
6. fabricated
7. deceptive
8. twisting
9. their own ideas
10. "do not have our best interests at heart"
11. mentally diseased
12. seek to infect others with their disloyal teachings
13. twisted teachings that contradict His word
Interesting! All I can add is, were they looking at a mirror when they wrote this? Pot, meet kettle...
without looking up the internet search engine or any books, do you know what termites look like?
do you know the signs of termites?
please be honest.
Signs: unexpected thin, weak spots beneath the surface of the wood. Mud-like tubes running from ground level to the floor joists in a crawl space, or low-lying wood siding. Sand-like wood dust near anything made of wood.
Appearance: you seldom see them, they don't like sunlight. Adults leaving the nest to start a new one resemble flying ants, as Snowbird said.
