A simple question
by Listener inthere is a lot of information available about questions to ask jws.
it's a good thing to make them think a little more instead of being spoon fed all the time.. one question that could be posed is - where did the the 'new light' come from?
(answer) so where did the 'old light' come from?.

Go to www.watchtower.org and research that question if you're really interested. You'll sure find the answer there.
Also, you can check out the book 'Reasoning From The Scriptures' and read the chapter titled Jehovah's Witnesses; the answers to many of your questions are there.
Wow, you are not going to even try to answer the questions using the bible only. JW's are trained to use WTBS publications as the authority and not the bible.

Watchtower Sends Legal Notice To local congregations Regarding Coyright Infringement
by booby inapparently it has come to their notice that "some brothers and sisters" are distributing copyright materials freely to the public at large.
the letter to the boe includes instructions that this illegal action is to cease immediately.
further information will be found in the margins of a special book provided for elders eyes only that has been rumored to be sent or has been sent to the elder bodies..

Is it socially and professionally acceptable to drink a beer during your lunch break?
by miseryloveselders ini've been watching my alcohol intake for dietary reasons.
i've been limiting my consumption to a small half glass of vodka, or a shot or two of bourbon.
alcohol just doesn't do well with the gains i want to make working out.

No, it's against policy but we have lazy management. Around here, lots of people take liquid lunches on paydays, Mondays, humpdays, Fridays, humpday eve and TGIF eve.

wondering your thoughts.

Where I was raised, you didn't tell anyone to shut up, not parents to kids, and your parent better not overhear you saying it to another kid.
This was a big no-no in my household growing up. The closest my siblings and I would come to saying it would be telling each other to be quiet. And even then, we were saying it out of earshot of my parents.
I would NOT tolerate it from my mate!

KS10 Chapter Three
by yknot inchapter three from 'shepherding the flock of go' published by the wts of penn/ny as part of their worldwide bible educational work.
the wts is a non-profit whose publications are not for sale but are freely given to those who show 'genuine' interest..... while not required, a donation is always joyfully accepted .
well i was going to stick to the boe ltr for a 'pre-view' but somebody deleted my sendspace links.

page 35 para 13 "If the brother has not previously served as an elder or a ministerial servant, ask the following question: "Have you ever been involved at
any time in the past with child sexual molestation?"
Is this new?

Page 30 para 2 - "The Governing Body and its representatives rely heavily upon your good judgment and spiritual discernment in making your recommendations." Looks like they are going on record as saying they don't having anything to do with appointments.

Wasblind - I can't speak for all women, but the average women ain't gonna choose being alone overa good lovin' man. There is a third party in this. I don't know who or what it is. But it's there.
Dan, I'm so sad for you. But I agree with the above statement and i apologize if this seems disrespectful to you or your wife. If there is no abuse, it take a lot for a woman to leave a man she loves.
Her leaving was in the works and she's had help arranging it. This is the first step. She's thinking ahead to future without you and acting according. This should be the wake up call for you to do the same. Seek legal counsel. If you belong to a union, trade or professional organization, they can direct to to free or low cost legal assistance.
Do you know where your important documents are (wills, birth certificates, deeds, financial statements, credit/bank account numbers, SS cards, passports etc)? I bet she does. Right now you have to set aside your emotions and get your affairs in order.

How do I cut off pioneering?
by bottleofwater ini'm 19 and trying to get a job.
my dad won't pay for my college if i don't pioneer.. if i get a job, i can't pioneer while in college.. i can supposedly work and study, but i need a good way to get rid of pioneering (it was never my idea in the first place - blame the parents with their social coercion).. if i stop pioneering, i will be told by my parents that i don't love jehovah (not that i care what they say).. how can i do this as painlessly as possible?.
i want to move out someday and have enough money to do this.. by the way, if you read my started topics you will see my situation in more detail and that my dad is the coordinator of the boe..

My Mom is a pioneer as well. So I can't fake times
Is she your pioneer partner? If not, faking should be no problem. If she is, tell her you are "widening out" and working with some "friends" you met at school or at the District Convention.

What about renting a room from someone that's not a JW?
Does your school have student services or housing dept? They can steer you toward landlords that rent to students. Also, they can be a good source to check if your fellow students are looking for a roomate.
