The elderly are forgotten about in my congregation generally and doubly so if they are in a nursing home.
Some friends make the effort for ones who were super faithful but for the most part, out of sight, out of mind.
speaking from my experiance i have seen no less than 10 elderly jw's put into old age care homes and promptly forgotten about!.
no visits from their "loving shepards" no vists from their spritual family.
they were left to rot out of sight out of mind.

question: when you awakened and discovered the truth about "da troof", what did you do with the www money in your service bag?.
i must confess: i took my apostate brother out to lunch and paid for it with my www stash.
i hadn't deposited my money in a long time, so there was about $30 in there.. .
I never asked for donations, felt too like pimping the word of God. If i received a donation, i kept it since i fronted the money when i picked up the lit. The GB HATES publishers like myself, LOL.

young people strengthen your desire to serve jehovah.
what invitation was extended to children in the christian congregation?
serve god or the wts?.
Attended this week.
This is kind of off-topic...A pioneer's bible student commented on the "Cherie" paragraph, likening Cherie to Timothy tried to encourage his friend Jonathan to pioneer instead of going college. No one knew what she was talking about. Turns out the pioneer gave her the Timothy drama recording and she thought it was a real bible account. She doesn't see anything wrong with the GB's discouragement to nix college because she thinks it's a biblical admoniton....no words.
i've been watching the new dvd and it is a bull fest about russell.
i haven't even gotten half way and they already excluded one very important bit of information.
you'll recall that russell "lost" his faith and "turning away from church creeds and searching for truth, russell examined some leading oriental religions, only to find these unsatisfying".
got it....thank you!

i started reading the book "who wrote the bible" by richard elliot friedman this week.
i'm a little over halfway through it today, and have found it to be quite informative and enlightening.
with every page i read, i realize again what a tiny jw bubble i have spent my life inside.. have you read this book?
Reading it now, albeit slowly. It's eye-opening.
as you read in the title, the elders from my congregation want to have a chat with me...which could be about to things...either why havent i gotten baptized ( since ive been in this since i was born...ive been tortured all my life lol) or either because i have a worldly boyfriend.. i dont know what to say in either case!
i cant say i dont want to get baptized because i have to appear to like the religion til i graduate college cuz my mom pays for it and is pract blackmailing me with it, and i cant say tht i will cause i hate it!
and about my boyfriend they will either give me advice about why not to be with him or convert him...so i dont know what to say to to pacify them and not let it get to me...so any advice?
Avoid meeting with them if at all possible, use work, studying and school as excuses. Set up meeting with them, find something else to do and don't show up. Screen your phones, head to the parking lot or restroom after the meetings to avoid them.
If you have to meet with them, don't answer any personal questions about your BF. Say he's your close friend, study partner. If they corner you on personal matters, tell them you haven't done anything to bring reproach on the congregation or Jehovah. Keep repeating this until they get the point.
I like the suggestion of telling them that you don't need more knowledge but want to build a personal relationship with Jehovah before you take the plunge, genius!
does porneia, frequently translated "fornication" refer to sex before marriage?
catholic theologan that i know says it does not.
any thoughts?.
Think of your chances of finding love/marriage/suitors in your current inactive state. You are going to have to widen the net if you are serious about dating.
if I started dating worldly men, then married one, what are my chances of being disfellowshipped?? Or, if I keep it private, and show up married, what will they simply reprove me?
1. Marrying a wordly man is not a DF or reproving offense in it of itself. You will be counseled (if you agree to meet with them) and maybe marked depending on your BOE. If it became known that you 'sampled the goods' before you married, then they will convene a judicial committee.
attention to the elder body of the *******congregation of jehovahs witnesses .
criminal harassment is defined as "engag(ing) in intentional conduct which the actor [harasser] knows or has reason to know would cause the victim, under the circumstances, to feel frightened, threatened, oppressed, persecuted, or intimidated; and causes this reaction on the part of the victim.
609.749, subd.
I like the third letter and agree with Think About It's revisions...good luck!
You might consider listing what date you requested D.Smith to inform the BOE to stop harassing you. Also, you might say your request was "blatantly" ignored
