Welcome Pack for Newbies!

i wondered if we should have a thread decicated to welcoming newbies and telling them all the things they might need to know.. eg.
we all know about the un, 1975, j rutherford etc etc etc etc etc etc but they don't.

How Much WT Literature is Still in Your Life?

i threw mine out, and watched it flutter down the street in the wind for weeks... good times!;)
the only time i see any literature now is when its rubbish laying on the street... which come to think of it....

following on from a thread by Dissed the other day about how the JW's are offering a "come back to us" pack. I wondered if we should have a thread decicated to welcoming newbies and telling them all the things they might need to know.
EG. we all know about the UN, 1975, J Rutherford etc etc etc etc etc etc but they don't. So why not fill them in?
It might also be a good way of telling them what a great life they can have when they are free of this cruel cult.

i have the most awful feeling that i know janesey hull. I recognise the style, phases and terminlogoy from a JW i know who lives in the Hull area. And yes... they are exactly the kind of person who would come on here just to "prove the apostates wrong"
...they are also a "he".....
...i have known them before to pretend to be femaly inorder to debate on the internet...

The Evil Eye!

here they are obessed with the evil eye, and everyone wears these blue glass charms with a black dot in the middle that is meant to repel the evil eye.
i have had proffesional, highly educated, inteligent people swear by these charms and tell me that they "really do work!".

hey guys ( JB and IA) while i'm on your side of the arguement i have to say i think your well out of order in what youv'e just been saying to AE.
Telling someone your glad they can't have kids and that they are a potenical murderer is wrong. Somthing that i think alot of us here try to prove is that we are not the horrible evil apostates that the borg paint us to be, your above coments to AE undermine all that.
They undermine and cheapen us all...

Spanish JW's are just as rude
by dissed ini was in homedepot (hardware store) the other morning and i noticed two jw spanish brothers making the rounds, in the store.
they stood out to me because they were wearing suits, ties, and one was wearing an overcoat to carry literature.
(this is the summer here).

how about a whole group of pineoers in my area who used to get up at the crack of dawn and desend apon the local railway station that took all the commuters into London?
Imagine that? 5am your barely awake, standing on a freezing cold platform and youv'e got a JW pouncing on you!
Eventualy the london bethel received so many complaints/ threats from the poor communters that they actauly asked the JW's to stop.

Elder Book: Don't DF JWs who talk to DFed family. Usually. Your take?
by Open mind inif you've been reading here for long, this won't come as news to you.. i don't have my elder book with me right now, but here's the gist of what it says about what the elders should do when they find out a jw talked to a dfed family member.. 'generally, disfellowshiping is not necessary when a congregation member speaks to a close relative who is dfed.
provided there is no condoning or justifying of the wrong course.'.
that is a paraphrase, but i'm pretty sure that "justifying of the wrong course" is close to verbatim.. two questions:.

i do know of a case where a mother was disaplined for speaking to her DF'd son and daughter in law. Her exhuse? they had just had her first grandchild and she wanted to support them. The reaction? she was marked, disaplined and then treated in the congo like a Df'd person herself.

heres an idea for a reform... how about the JW's try to act in a loving manner, as christains are indeed supposed to? now i would love to see this happen.
They bang on so much about agape love, but never practice it. Its all academic.
And by the way, in modern greek, agape just means love, thats it and quiet frankly thats all you need pure and simple
