  how are the JW's viewed from the outside?

  i know while in the org we get told alot to tell everyone that we are jw's, cos its reputation is so good.

  but that dosn't explain why people still refuse to answer the doors to them, or hide when they come aknocking.. so how are jw's really viewed by the outside world?.

  has your life been "blessed" since leaving?

  while in the org we are constantly told that if we just tow the line and behave that will we be blessed and everything we want will come to us.

  personaly i havn't found that to be the case in the 30 years i spent trying to tow the line.. but now i've left wonderfull things are starting to happen in my life and i'm so very happy!.

  so i wondered, have you encountered more "blessings" or less since leaving?.

  maybe i missed out on hearing the new line of thinking regarding it, i don't know.

  i thought it best i stay a lurker.

  it's just right now, i'm going through some doubts and just plain discouraged.

  sometimes, trying to do everything just wears me out, and i feel like i'm suffocating.

  those oh so spritual answers...

  i had my own flash of light the other day.

  i realised somthing about sister perfect, you know the type who would perfectly hold her nose above everyone else, and occasionaly condesend to talk to one of us lowly ones, she was so perfect she farted chanel no 5!.

  the other thing she would do was those oh so spirtaul answers, the ones with the whole paragraph and watchtower inculded in it.

  in 2000, my boss, a police lieutenant, was nearing retirement and had very little work to do.. every afternoon, he used to come out of his office and station himself near my workstation for a chat.

  there was something about me that seemed to fascinate him.

  i think it was my being a jw; he used to ask probing questions about my belief.. one day our conversation centered on sin and judgment.

  Welcome Pack for Newbies!

  following on from a thread by dissed the other day about how the jw's are offering a "come back to us" pack.

  i wondered if we should have a thread decicated to welcoming newbies and telling them all the things they might need to know.. eg.

  we all know about the un, 1975, j rutherford etc etc etc etc etc etc but they don't.
