Its not unheard of, but it might be a good idea to see a therapist. I've been having similar problems myself for quite sometime now, and even made a thread about it (though I focused mainly on my nightmares...).

Newly fading and having morbid thoughts about dying....is that normal?!
by 2pink ini have been having doubts for years about the org, but it's mostly been just the past couple of months that it's really all unravelled for me.
i'm at that stage now where i don't know what i believe about anything...esp about what happens when you die.. and maybe it's just cause i never had to think about death before (was always countin' on that resurrection in paradise earth!

That movie does look cool, but I don't think I'm ready to see that movie either... Of course, it'll have the "scientific explanation" which just ruins the watching lots of things get smashed with awesome special effects...
Still, kinda sad that that is the type of stuff the JWs look forward to stuff like that...

Goshawk: I can honestly say that I AM a "youth" and I've never quite been that bad... And quite often, depending on who I'm talking to, I will answer honestly about things like that.
Heres one: If we as a family are given the cold shoulder by many of the other families in the congregation, and I'm not allowed to make friends at school, where in the world am I supposed to find friends? (That one bothered me a bunch when I was younger).

Everything About Being An Elder is Weird (my misc rambling memories of being an elder)
by AllTimeJeff infor any brother who is a jehovah's witness, the goal is put before them to reach out for the privilege of being an elder.
i can only speak for myself, but being born into the religion, i wanted to be an elder since i was 5. i would have much rather wanted to be a doctor or engineer, but those are the breaks..... i'll skip the part about what it takes to reach out, all the crap you have to put up with as a ministerial servant to get appointed, and go straight to the reality.. i know many elders who sincerely just wanted to be shepherds.
i did want the spotlight.

I went to Bethel about a year before Carey Barber died. He was surrounded by all these women he was hugging and kissing (on the cheeks, of course. LoL) and getting pictures with. I seem to remember our tour guide saying something about how he "liked the ladies".

I think the situation is similar to 1984. In the book, the leadership was just as brainwashed as the lower class. They too loved Big Brother despite knowing his nature (got to love the doublethink)
After reading Crisis of Conscience, I kind of got the impression that the Governing Body really believes in what they are doing for the most part. They are already pretty much at the limits of what power, influence, and money a person can get. The money grubbing is not out of some conscious master plan to gain even more wealth, but instead due to the inertia of the group thinking of the Watchtower corporation. No one really stops and thinks about whats going on. The corporation and organization goes on almost of their own accord.
Anyway, just a thought...
