When we give others the benefit of the doubt we can often be pleasantly surprised.
One imagines a genuine troll will eventually hang himself so to speak...
i have noticed that some of us are a bit too eager to label new posters as trolls.
while it is clear that there are some posters who just like to stir up trouble or are out and out apologists there are others who are witnesses starting to have genuine doubts and so ask questions but then when they see the responses the cognitive dissonance kicks in and they push back and argue with what they are being told.
this can lead to very negative reactions from jwn members and accusations that the person is a troll.

the feeling that you're never good enough.
the feeling that you're wicked and evil.. .
because i'd give anything not to feel this way.
Even before leaving the feeling went away for our family as we were learning more about the liberating and healing central message of scripture which religion had been hiding from us.
We'd be happy to send you a one page summary we compiled over the last 8 years. Just send us a PM.
This video is also a great summary:
why did you get baptized?.
what do you think they would reply?.
because it is the truth!
A good question and observation, sarahsmile.
The answer would never be "because I believe and follow Jesus Christ".

As a voracious viewer and reader I am forced to allocate most of my time to resources that are clear, concise and to the point.
5 minute videos are great.
1-3 minute videos even better.
Mike and Kim are setting a great example of how we all could one day fearlessly "come out" on YouTube.
Something like the many "I was a Mormon: Name Surname" videos on YouTube.
this seems to be a real worry for 'faders' on a number of threads.
the responses to ducati's first posting.
is a good example.
They wouldn't dare - terrified of hearing us talk about the liberating gospel of grace which they carefully hide from their followers and worshippers.
quite a few here on jwn seem to have grown and developed in leaps and bounds, sometimes beyond their wildest dreams.. others seem to still be struggling.. what do you think makes it possible to flourish?.
the degree to which our mind has been liberated from watchtower thinking?.
if so, this seems to happen in many different ways, so what is the secret?.

i have a genuine question for the jw apologist.
.
what is your scriptural justification for your unquestioning obedience to the governing body and your unwillingness to question their intepretation of scripture?.
I suspect JWN has a rather high conversion rate from JW apologist to lover of TTATT...
How about:
(Jeremiah 17:5) . . .“Cursed is the able-bodied man who puts his trust in earthling man..."
(Psalm 146:3) . . .Do not put YOUR trust in nobles, Nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs.
Are the GB "earthling man"?
Of course not.
They are demigods ("mortals raised to divine rank").
according to scripture they could.
sure in jw land anybody could partake of the emblems and wine , male and female denoting they could be rulers with christ in his heavenly kingdom , however did many of these partakers actually have any say with the governing body ?
in fact did any of them have any say in their own kingdom halls ?
I liked your point about the curse of inequality having (legally) been brought to an end by Jesus, villagegirl.
"You basically leave your religion at the front door and when you are in work uniform."
Now if only you could shun some of your custom making its way into their pay checks...
