"God created things to show that they were created, so that we would worship Him and not the creation."
If life and all that supports life is God’s way of showing we were created, then the question that begs to be answered is, “who created God?” Saying that God has always existed is changing the rule that led to the conclusion that “God created things to show that they were created . . . “
Creationist want it both ways, much like religionist point to their holy books as the actual word of God while condemning other religionist as infidels.

I wouldn't waste time talking to a myth. However if Jehovah was real, I would ask for a couple of more years. :))

Thanks everyone! I haven't looked back at the replies for a day or so, and wanted to express my appreciation for the comments. Simon and Angharad continue to put up with the headaches of keeping this large forum going; I really don't know how they do it, but it's greatly valued. I'm sure the forum assistants put in many thankless hours; thanks to you, also!
This forum continues to be a useful gift to countless people, and I'm certain a HUGE HEADACHE to the Tower. Indeed, "the truth will set you free," and in the end truthful information is a light that can't be extinguished. It's been a five-year pleasure being part of that light.

Do you have a relative or know someone who died over the blood issue?
by IW inmy nephew did.
please support barbara's effort to force a change in the watchtower!
please do whatever you can to spread the word about the essay and the watchtower's manipulation of facts that only serve to kill innocent children.

A woman that my spouse studied with died while giving birth. Her doctor was very upset and said she would never accept another JW that refused blood. How sad--a child never knew her mother and a mother never knew her daughter because of the Watchtower!
Cults like the Tower should be required to post a sign outside their doors, "WARNING--The Watchtower Society is Harmful to your Health--it can KILL YOU!"

How would JWs run a country if they had one?
by Spectrum incan anybody imagine what it would be like to live in a country run by jws?
what would they call it?
what laws would they have?

If you remember how the Tellaban ran Afghanistan, I'm fairly sure that's how the Tower would run a country.

D.U.M.B.O.
by feelinsketchy infor those outside nyc that stands for down under the manhattan bridge overpass.
it's an up and coming area in which the society pulled building permits for 4 twenty story residence buildings with a connecting atrium and underground parking.
the permits were pulled last year about this time (much to the annoyance of the locals) and when inquiries were made of local bethelites the word on the street became "the governing body hasn't decided whether or not to go through with the project.

Do you vote?
by MsMcDucket ini was just wondering if anyone here votes in the elections?
considering how badly that some of us did on that test, i wonder if anyone is even concerned with politics?
do you care who your congressman is for your state?

forsharry -- Great post, thanks!
When citizens do nothing, someone else will do it to or for you. I vote not because the folks I vote for are perfect, but because they are for the values I lean towards. Yes, sometimes it's the lesser of two so-called evils, but I'm not going to let my JW background keep me from voting.

What would be a good business to replace the Kingdom Hall?
by DevonMcBride ini know i'm jumping the gun here but...with the big news coming there may be some for sale signs in front of kingdom halls in the future.
the kingdom hall near me is at a busy intersection and a prime location for another business.
i think a yoga studio would be perfect there.

"FREE FIREWOOD" I love that one, Seven.
Funereal Home is my suggestion. KHs are for people who have stopped thinking, thus it's already set up for the dead.
