just wondering how much good that does when ex-jws hold up signs at conventions.
do you know of anybody that saw something on a sign and did research and subsequently left the organization?.

I remember in the early 80's at the convention in Wheeling, West Virginia, there was a group of apostates that would protest during intermission. I was quite young and had no idea what they were going on about. I liked being outside during the convention, but the attendants made us go in, because it gave the appearance we were listening to the apostates.
Anyway,it was always the same guy using a megaphone. He had red hair and a mustache. Anyone here?

My understanding on this "generation", correct me if it is wrong, but it is all the annointed that were alive during the "last days". According to the Watctower, starting in 1914 and it will continue until, "the conclusion of this system of things." Have I got it right?
to keep every jw on the same page about the new light on extending the generation to mammoth's lengths of time the gb will no doubt be squashing any open criticism,, even the old cronies at bethel will looking differently at the gb when that starts happening.
even the most hardcore believer will be looking at the governing body in a "new light".
I have family who do not recognize this as new light. They just don't get it. They said it's nothing new that some annointed would still be living in this time of the end. Or Jesus didn't know the time of the end when he talked about the "generation" so he couldn't be specific.
I know that if I didn't bring it up, most wouldn't even be paying attention.

i am frustrated and dumbfounded.
i understand that she misses the social activity with her "friends" but we have been "very" busy socially the last several months with new friends and she's been having a great time.
If she tries to reunite with her old friends from the hall, even if, they accept her, it can never go back the way it was originally. Her way of thinking is totally different now. She'll find the connection she longs for will be gone. So if your wife no longer believes it's the "truth", I wouldn't worry about it too much. She'll soon tire of them .
my 10 year old grandson is in the hospital with really high blood pressure.
he has a urinary tract blockage which is affecting his kidney function,which resulted in the high blood pressure.
his dad, soonernc7 and his mom are with him now.
Sending positive thoughts out and hope your grandson starts to feel better real soon.

I admire all those that simply left. It's hard, because I still care for a lot in the congregation, and I know a lot still care about me. Plus, my mother knows how to put on the guilt trip. I vaguely expressed my concerns about the org. And she said:"What do you want to do, kill me." ugh.
I really do want to make a clean break of it and live my own life. I know by fading I am wasting precious time. And it's not so much being shunned, as feeling I let a lot of people down. It's hard to explain.
Plus, I want to take my time so I won't have any regrets on how I handled the situation.

my family was continually a victim of sewer level slander (not even gossip that resulted in murder - not physical but a character assassination.
One of my family members was slandered by a couple of elders. It is very hurtful when they are judging someone's motives who are doing their best to serve God. My relative is young and is very good at public speaking and the elders told his father he is only doing it because, he likes the spotlight. I guess elders know how to read hearts too. Disgusting. They left that congregation and moved to another one where they have a lot of friends. I don't see them ever really waking up.
But, it amazes me with so many younger ones leave the org. but, then, they have one to do their bidding, like my relative, they tear him to pieces. I can't type what I feel about those losers.
some of you may have remembered me describing my wife's sister having serious mental problems.. its been a source of great discouragement to the entire family because her husband (a devout jw) has refused to get her help.
in fact, blaming it all on the demons, and we being the ones who introduced them, because of our leaving the wt.
well, to everyons surprise on friday, they came to a family dinner, this is very rare.
Do you think your sister-in-law has schizophrenia? I am definitely not a psychiatrist, but I know those with that condition hear voices. Hopefully, she will finally get the help she needs.
thursday while doing business in a urban city, i came across a very frequent scene:.
6 or so witlesses pioneering and doing their piosneer strut.. 1: older man, 50ish.
1: 16-20ish man.
The pioneers in my hall are either retired, work full or part-time.
