Nightmares when active JW
by MissConfused ini remember when i was active, i would constantly get nightmares regarding armageddon.. used to wake up so many times at night watch my window, pray hard and try to go to sleep.
now i wonder that this organization was really succcessful in making people scared to death about 'current system of things', but why would anyone do that?
why would anyone want to bring division in families, make hate speeches, scare people to death, etc?

CO over for dinner Tuesday thru Friday
by A question inhas anyone had a co over for dinner during their visit on any of the nights from tuesday thru friday?
that seems hard to do because those nights usually have meetings.
if you did do it, how long were they able to stay after finishing eating?.

they used to go to people's houses for supper long ago......i think it got phased out because it was an inconvenience all around. but, who knows. it might vary from area to area - and depending on the co and how friendly he is.

i always thought it was crazy that they were so insistent you stay in the "approved" lodgings. thought the spiritual banquet was supposed to be the most important thing - that you were there in the first place. but then the kickbacks made it all make sense.
we never played the game....we always stayed wherever we wanted. and funny, but one place in particular we had stayed at for a few years in a row when it wasn't on the list and because we were regular customers they gave us a better rate than the jw ones at the time for equivalent hotels. then one year this place made the list - and when we called all the rooms were taken - when they got our name and saw our history they all of a sudden had a room for us and we got it for cheaper than the jw rate.
thinking back i guess we were always on the rebellious side. we'd always go out for lunch too. we hate crowds and mingling....

just say no. if you don't want to meet with them, why play around. you don't have to supply reasons or excuses....it is your life, your decisions. if you don't want something - that is the end of the matter. not happening.....
nobody owes them anything - they set themselves up as guardians of the sheep - but the reality is that they have absolutely no say over what anyone says thinks or does.

My story so far
by brainmelt ini've been trying to avoid posting this, due to extreme paranoia but its time to post my story.
i hope to not post too many details, as we've avoided being df so far, our group elder was young and lovely and cool and i just hope that in time he learns the ttatt.. i'm a regular lurker on here, occasional poster (i can't post much as my phone browser only lets me read but not post, so i only post on the odd occasion i get a time alone on the pc).
i have been fading since round about last september ( so almost my first anniversary of learning ttatt).

Wish you the best with your little boy. It must be very difficult - but to make the most of the present and get the best out of every moment is the way to go! Life is reality....the here and now.....
And glad you saw through the religion thing....life is far mor peaceful without that dragging you down.
Good luck!

No more district assemblies in Tri-Cities. News article
by Indian Larry infor years the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses has held a regional convention in the tri-cities, attracting about 16,000 of the faithful who spend an estimated $8.6 million while in town.. .
but they won't be coming in 2014.. "what they told me is the decision has been made nationally to downsize the number of conventions from 400 to 100. they're simply consolidating," said kris watkins, president and ceo of the tri-cities visitor & convention bureau in kennewick.. .

they could always do something like this
Assembly Hall seats 3000.
District has 27000 attendees.
Schedule a weekly series of 9 district conventions, and divvy up the peeps so that you only get around 3000 at each. District Convention 2014 - Millions Formerly Living are now Dead..... please attend as instructed at Notown USA, section 1 through 9. We will make an announcement letting all know when the announcement of the new loving arrangement will be made so that all can adjust their schedules appropriately in order to partake of this rich spiritual banquet provided by the lovingest of all gb.
