An old JW friend got back to me ,Phillipine Convention experience and my reply.
by smiddy3 inthis link had to do with the experience that was given by a young witness pioneer in the phillipines convention and her take was on return to jehovah .. an old time friend from the past sent me this link a couple of weeks ago trying to encourage me to come back to the religion and asked me what i thought of it ?.
i said i would if she could reply to my 2 questions first fair enough ?
so far i haven`t heard back from her and i will let you know if and when i do.. the 2 questions i asked her was to do with jehovah`s name and the christian greek scriptures ,especially the ki publication the wt brought out ,the word for word greek to english that didn`t have an equivalent greek word for jehovah .. and the other one was to do with the charge that was given to christians ,followers of jc to witness about jesus with over 20 such scriptures and not one saying anything about being a witness for jehovah anywhere in the nt.. over the years she has always still kept in touch, a little bit eccentric and we had a lot to do with her family and mine back in the day when we were all believers .. .and she is not backward in coming forward about having a go at the elders who she doesn`t agree with .. at the time i looked at the link and have posted somewhere else about it on this forum and mentioned i didn`t see anything about "returning to jehovah" in it .. anyway this was a few weeks ago and i was still waiting to hear from her..today we got mail from her ,,slow mail ,even though we have each others e-mail address .and in the envelope was only the wt "return to jehovah " and inside a $50 note.?.

Who is considered more bizarre?
by incognito2014 injws or mormons.
from a public point of view not from people within the religion as that would be obvious.. examples of extreme beliefs or behaviour would be useful..

Yeah....I agree that despite odd underwear and polygamy the Mormons are a bit saner.....in terms of education and community betterment....socialization. Witnesses come across as weird by not participating in normal cultural or societal activities....and imho the higher education negativity predisposes the cult to outside observations of serious lack of enlightenment....which is not unfounded.

Should You Be Required To Wear A Coronavirus Mask?
by minimus insome towns require everyone going outside to wear one.
one massachusetts city requires anyone from 5 up to wear a mask.
some cities require masks and have shut down parks and sports playing while others in a nearby town have no such restrictions.

I find it quite claustrophobic.....but out of respect for my fellow man I follow the guidelines from the medical and scientific intelligentsia. As long as the virus rages it is selfish and cavalier to ignore safety precautions.....dangerous as well.

I was privy to an irate phone witnessing conversation
by joe134cd ini happened to be privy to a phone witnessing conversation that my aged father was conducting, the person on the other end just climbed into him.
he got real nasty and my father ended up hanging up on him.
i could see that my father was distressed about it, but or course put it down to satan and persecution.

I abhor unsolicited phone calls and think they should all be illegal and perpetrators hit with big fines. It is in very poor taste and disturbing that an individual would think it appropriate to endeavor to contact strangers this way only to storm them with his or her personal religious opinions. If they are met with rude or angry responses it is their own fault for being so disrespectful.

Reversed Shunning

Yup...I relate totally. To this day I find it an embarrassment that the family from which I sprung was involved in this messy cult...and that I was suckered in for so long. I have no interest whatsoever to have contact with any of the believers....and actually none ever reached out to me personally during my fade process and immediately after we did have some self-glorious elders knocking on the door but I did not answer.

274 pages of pharisaical rules, regulations and procedures. No resemblance to Jesus teachings of love, compassion and fair-mindedness.
