  okay guys, i have a little time on my hand ( a little).. as i was going through public school, the persecutions and ostracism remained.

  it was a very difficult thing to be a jw kid in comunism.

  parents could not "homeschool" like in us, which i am sure my mother would have done if she could.

  Every publisher must pay for assembly costs???

  want to hear the latest debacle?

  the po in my mom's congregation told them that at the next 1-day-assembly it will be the responsibility of every publisher to put 3 in the box towards the running costs at the assembly hall.

  Hi Blondie, I was told that elders go around in the KH asking to individuals for their share. I don't know if they have a list...they should have one in order to not miss somebody!

  A friend of us, publisher with his wife told us that in their country (Italy) the elders are used to ask the 5 or 6 euros per publisher, days before the beginning of the convention, in order to send the money to the Betel before the assembly starts. How clever this is: elders ask to everybody the money, so they can have a strict control on everybody, so this is compulsory, where is finished: your left hand doesn't know what the right....

  Can you think to families with two, three children also publishers? This is quite an amount to pay in order to assist an assembly in their own assembly hall !!!

  Money, money, money...what a shame!

  If you will not be present...we will proceed without you!!!! This is what has been declared by elders in some occasion.

  Anyway, in my husband's case: He was invited to a judicial committee, where he did'nt go, instead he sent 300 letters + lots of e-mail to all those who had known him, explaining the reasons of his leaving the organization.

  The week after, in his absence and without ANY NOTIFICATION or telephone call, they have announced his disassociation!!!!! Bas...ds!!!

  Why didn't we ever study "Mankind's Search For God"?

  it seems to me that pretty much every publication was studied at the book study, but we never did that one..

  We liked that book, read for ourselves but NEVER studied at the weekly books study in Switzerland.

  At what age should women stop wearing tight jeans!?

  i'm at the grocery store.

  walking ahead of me is this woman with a really nice butt in really tight jeans, small waist, nice hair.

  (yes, guys, even us women notice other women's butts:-) she stops at the dairy section, turns around and i swear she is 60 if not older!

  In my opinion,I would have asked: AT what weight women should stop wearing jeans?

  Could be a young woman but if she is fat...tight jeans would be..

  If she looked so great well, good for her. I, probably found more 'shocking' long hair (specially if white) for over 60ies...

  My awakening and realization that I have been told a lie

  hi all, new posting, but i've been lurking for a while.

  i thought it was time to "come out" as it were and voice my story.... i was born into the jw cult surrounded by all of my jw family.

  grandfather was an elder for almost 40 years till he passed, both of my uncles are currently now elders and have been for the last 15 years.

  Hi Soldier77, welcome on board!

  I'm so sad for the abuse you have suffered, I understand what it means, specially when you are not believed! My daughter suffered the same problem and the healing has been very very long. Now she is feeling better, and starts to rebuild her life.

  Happy that you have realized who the Watchtower is. You must be young, you have plenty of time to rebuild your life. I've been in the borg almost 50 years after my baptism...well it is never too late!!!!

  Feel home here with good friends who understand you!

  What year Did you Stop Attending Meetings - How Long were you a JW ?

  i'm trying to compare some statistics and figures on this to share later in the thread to see if more long-time witnesses are exiting- or are newer witnesses exiting after a shorter period of time.

  and - are more people exiting in the last 10 to 15 years than before.

  so your answers would be helpful in looking into this .

  Baptized in 1962 at 15.

  Active till 2005, at 58

  Not yet dissociated, but will come soon!

  My husband: Born in, baptized at 12. Super active elder, active till 2004 at 59. disassociated last year (2009) poor us........

  Never gone back to meetings!

  Good conclusion for your kids. You have been a father really alert, I wish I would have done the same....years ago. But, at that time, when my children were young, and still all of us in the org, nothing happened to shake our life in order to wake up to the subtle teachings of this organization.

  Hope that your wife will realize soon, how bad are the methods of this organization!

  so we are at the point where my daughter has been taking in my lifestyle for 4 years since she i left the truth when she was just 4 years old.

  my son who is a couple of years younger thankfully seems to be immune to most of the indoctrination from the jws.
