thats right, the co along with one of the local elders paid an unexpected visit to my wife and i this morning.
i was just busting at the seam to bring up the un fiasco but i refrained as they do not know i have made my journey to the darkside.
my wife just glared with the "looks that kill" as they spewed the usual "time is near better not persue a career" line and i should be providing "spiritually" for the family.
Hi Mole, I have a guarantee to keep the CO and other elders away. When they come over, keep them on the porch and don't let them in. I did this on a cold day, and they have not been back since.

The only one that comes to mind at the moment is. When somebody says something that does not make much since say, "Yea, and if my aunt had a package, she would be my uncle."

seems to me there are mainly three roads most of us have taken.
1.we did something "wrong" and were disfellowshipped and after felt able to look at the society in a different light.. 2.we didn't like the "truth" and were looking for a way out.. 3.we wanted it to be the truth but were overcome by the mountain of evidence against it.. which is the most common i wonder.. also do our motives play a large part in how we deal with information criticising the org.. without a reason to act information seems useless.. for instance if a person feels he has nothing to gain by leaving the org will he read different things into the same info as us?.
i think so and that all who leave must have a reason to do so, something to gain.. this does not make their reasoning wrong or prove they we are looking for just excuse.. but is a normal way in which humans deals with information.. two humans can have the same information but if they want or desire different things they may use the information differently.. maybe thats wht so many say "where else is there to go?
Reason number 2 seems to fit me. I wanted out, because I saw so much inconsistancy in the elder body. For instance how they treated some people. Ones that had influential relatives got treated better and were given authority while others were forgotten about.

reuters.... in a surprise development today, jehovah, the god of the christian fundamentalist sect 'jehovah's witnesses' made a statement about the recent controversy regarding the watchtower bible and tract society(wts) and its ngo status.
the 'wts' has now dissassociated itself from its previous ngo connection but had held such a position for the past 9 years or so.
'i've had enough' said the diety, 'i just don't know what i am supposed to do with these people.
Rock on KSJordan, I am glad to hear some great news like that. If I may, I wanted to leave a site that helped me get out of the Jehovah's Witnesses for good. http://members.aol.com/beyondjw/bj.htm Randy and Kent's sites are great especially with getting the facts strait. This site by Timothy Campbell is great with helping understanding the mental hold the JWs have on its members. Good luck and keep us all posted!
