My son doesn't have to "look" for me, he knows I'm in his life. If we are god's children, then we shouldn't have to look for him.

Undercover, you must really have been disturbed when the wine was (sometimes) poured out after the memorial!

Actually paying atention to the revelation book left me pondering how things were streatched to fit "prophicies".
Then trying to defend the ban on birthdays, I realized how stupid it sounded, then I realized I couldn't openly diagree with the org, that made me realize something was wrong.

Have the GB wised up to the dangers of e readers yet?
by londonlady injust trying out the new kindle myself and i realised that with its password protected facility, it would be possible to download all manner of forbidden books and magazines without the elders or jw parents knowing.. .
i'm surprised there hasn't been dire warnings issued about this yet?
or have the gb yet to hear about e readers?.

With the recent allowance of using them at meetings, via the letter to the body of elders, the answer is no, they don't understand.

Is there now a HUGE gulf between most R&F and the Elders ?
by Phizzy inthis was a question that sprang to my mind as i watched raypub's (eric's) j.c video.
can't wait for the rest of it by the way !.
it was so obvious that all those on that j.c, like i would think 99.9% of elders , put loyalty to the gb/wt before jehovah, jesus the bible or truth.. they are simply company men through and through.. the average r&f jw seems to me to believe they are serving god, and that comes higher on their list than the wt, you can see this by the way they pick and choose which of the myriad rules they obey.

Most rank and file think more about the org than you would believe, try telling them you don't believe In Jehovah, then tell them you don't agree with the GB, I believe the later will get a stronger reaction with most.

What was the biggest lie that you have ever told any JWs while you were still a JW?
by Iamallcool ini was deleted as ms some years ago, a brother thought i became an elder.
at the circuit assembly, he asked me if i am elder now, i said yes so the brother told me all of the gritty details about his wife and her sister that got disfellowshipped at the same time.
they went out with the worldly guys and they both got pregnant.

I'm really honest with people, putting on a smile at the hall and saying I was happy to be there was the biggest lie I ever told. There were some nice folks in my last congreation, so even then there was some truth to it.

Did any of you know the TATT before you left?
by marriedtoajw ini know that all everyone's experience vary but i ask this because i am under the impression that since jw's are taught to avoid reading material that may be critical of their teachings they just stay away.
yet many of you violated this at some point to come accross information that confirmed or convinced you of "the problems" with the org.
i have also spoken to active jw's online who seem to know the controvercies but still defend the org vigorously.

I knew something wasn't right, thats what made me start looking behind the curtian, I wanted to leave, I guess I was looking for a reason to leave, but I didn't make the decision to never go back until I learned the TATT.

I spend a lot of time on Reddit, I don't post a lot, however to an extent I understand where he is coming from. However just like we tell people here, there are all kinds. There are exjws who want to protest meetings and conventions and ail letters to everyone they know, others don't think this is a good idea. In this case I think both views are valid because JWs are as varied as Ex-Jws.
Belivers are as varied as ex Believers too
Yes there is a lot of juvenile crap on reddit, welcome to the internet. Otheres agree with this, someone started a subreddit called trueatheisim where mems and pictures are not allowed, personally I like both depending on my mood
This author wrote an article on the creation measuem, to do so and then criticize these people seems immature to me.
