I am for the Death penalty, but I think the victims/families wishes should play a greater role.

Execution in United States Are You For It?
by jayhawk1 infrom the ap.... raleigh, n.c. - a man who killed his wife and father-in-law pinned his hopes on last-minute intervention from the governor or the courts as he awaited lethal injection early friday in the nation's 1,000th execution since capital punishment resumed in 1977. kenneth lee boyd, set to die at 2 a.m., spent the day receiving visitors, including two sons who watched him gun down their mother and grandfather in 1988. .
my questions are; are you for or against the death penalty?
what was your opinion of the death penalty as a jehovah's witness?.

when did you stop believing?
by cherryblossomgirl inthe light faded for me when i was twelve.
i asked my uncle what happened to all the people who couldn't be reached by the "truth" in far off lands, or little kids whose parents didn't believe...ect... "would they still die in armagedon?
" he answered yes, and from there on, whether it was bs or not, i couldn't believe.

Thank you Special K
What is sad to me is that many here have been told such terrible lies. Sadly my brothers death may have sealed my parents fate in this cult.

For me it was when my older brother Scott was killed in a car accident. I remember my Dad coming in arround 5 in the morning and waking me up. He brought me into my parents room and started reading my some scriptures. I couldn't tell you what they were because I was so confused. I couldn't figure out what he was doing , he worked 3rd shift and shouldn't be home. Then he told me.
We did the big funeral thing. And during the calling hours I saw my poor brother just laying there. I went up to him and just lost it. My Mom brought me outside with some help from an old family friend.( who was also an Elder and the one who showed my parents the "truth") I was crying uncontrolably so he slapped me in the face and told me to snap out of it I was going to see my brother in the new system anyway!
That was it for me. I was 13. I kept going living my life like a "normal witness" would but I knew I didn't believe in the new system. More questions followed but I waited until I was out on my own before I took a real hard look at them.

Name Things That You Can Be Counseled For
by minimus ini'll start.......a woman wearing a skirt higher than her knee and a child crying during a meeting

I was counseled shortly after my brother died because I sat with one of my best friends( who was a boy) and we didn't leave a seat between us. I was 15 he was 13.
I was also in trouble for moving out of my parents house at the age of 22. I wasn't getting married so they saw no real need for me to move.

My Husband and I had stopped going to the KH by the time we had our daughter.
Her name is Eve. We named her after my brother Everett. He has three girls of his own and was never able to pass his name on ,so we did it for him. Her name also means Perfect and complete. Which she is.
This had nothing to do with the bible. My Mother had a fit. Said Eve was an evil name and refused to call her by it. She was calling her Eva. My Hubby told her that she was not welcome into our house anymore until she could learn to except our daughter and her name. She stopped that crap real quick.

Do witnesses picket when they are on strike?
by JH inwhen a company is on strike and employees picket outside the building with signs, do witness employees participate in any way?
usually there is a strike fund for those who picket.
what about the witnesses, how do they proceed when their company is on strike, and do they get the same amount of money as the others who picket?.

I don't agree with some of the comments made. My Dad belongs to the UAW he's an active witness. They have gone on strike and he went with them. He did not picket, but he was out on strike. He never crossed the picket line. And as for as getting a free ride he payed his Union dues every pay check. Not everyone in a union walks the picket line. Being in a union is not a free service that he just took advantage of. Nobody was paying in his behalf.

I had the same problem with my Mom. She told my little girl that she would die at armageddon for having a birthday party. She was 5. I told her that she was to NEVER talk to my children about her beliefs again. I was very firm and clear with her. I put her on notice that her future relationship with them hung in the balance.
I said it. I meant it. She knew it.

For seven years I was inactive still thinking it was the "truth". I thought I was just not strong enough to do it. Alot of things happened that made me think twice about Jehovah's people. I had a Christian neighbor who asked me questions and got me thinking. I did some research with my husband. We decided to get out. We never wanted to raise our kids as Witnesses.
I told my family, he told his. They were sad. I called 2 friends that I had been friends with for 30 years and told them. They both asked me not to call them again. So I didn't, their loss. Been free ever since...4 years now!
