Ray Franz: destroying personal files of dfed
by compound complex inhttp://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/164942/1/do-not-destroy-your-file-after-reinstatement.
karl adams, writing department overseer, wrote a letter to president knorr (november 18, 1971), questioning the keeping of voluminous files containing embarrassing information on disfellowshipped persons.
even after individuals were reinstated, their files were retained:.

Elders created new form of Expulsion - Looking for Suggestions
by Shepherd Book inas many of you already know, my wife and i left the jws simply because we discovered it was not true.
we did not commit any sins, and we did not sow seeds of doubt in the congregation.
in fact, at the last meeting my wife attended, she still fully believed it was the truth.. .

"The ________ has launched a vicious new assault on _________ and members of the _______community in the form of a new report that equates skepticism and distrust of government with “a toxic atmosphere of rage,” which is threatening to boil over in the form of violence.
The tone of the _____hit piece basically implies that _______ and his ilk are such a threat to the establishment that they should be removed from society, which ironically is exactly how Hitler dealt with his political enemies.
The true significance of this gargantuan hit piece on _________ and the movement is the fact that the establishment has firmly moved away from ignorance and ridicule and is now directly targeting us for elimination – an effective purge of the undesirables – by implying we want to commit violence and should therfore be neutralized.
The fact that we have constantly urged unity and discouraged division, while promoting a peaceful message of non-violence, has infuriated the increasingly incensed establishment because as their credibility has collapsed, ours has grown in leaps and bounds – and as a result their agenda is beginning to stall.
For the first time, _______ and their cohorts are acknowledging that the grass roots has the power to stop their agenda for ____________ in its tracks. This represents a massive sea change and proves that we are having an important impact, but it also serves as a warning because it’s glaringly obvious that the establishment is now committed to taking us down, either by means of character assassination, set-up, or worse."http://www.adl.org/special_reports/rage-grows-in-America/default.asp

"Interestingly, aren't we kept in fear all the time by our own "Big Brother", the Watchtower Society? They say that we have relative freedom but then we realize that don't. Case in point, a study that we had in the book, Keep Yourselves in God's Love.
"As servants of Jehovah, we rightly want to look our best, which means dressing in a way that is neat, clean, in good taste, and appropriate for the occasion...Above all, we want to bring honor to Jehovah and his people and to recommend ourselves as God's ministers, doing "all things for God's glory"...Our dress, grooming, and cleanliness are even more important when we are engaging in the field ministry or attending a Christian meeting. Ask yourself: 'Do my appearance and personal hygiene draw undue attention to me? Do they embarrass others? Do I consider my rights in these areas to be more important than qualifying for service privileges in the congregation?' "-Keep Yourselves in God's Love, Chpt. 5, para. 11-15
The paragraph ends by telling us that it is up to us - our own personal choice - how we want to dress. However, did you see the threat at the very end of the above paragraph? They pretty much say, 'You can dress however you want as long as we tell you that it is okay. If you do not dress in a manner that we approve, you will lose all of your privileges in the congregation.' It was so subtle that many didn't notice it for what it was. Now, is the Society wrong for telling us that we need to dress in a manner befitting to a Christian? Absolutely not! That is Biblical. But we are not allowed to dress how we want to. We even have a list of appropriate dress and grooming at Bethel and, we all know how we should dress at congregation meetings.
Little things like that show that this is a form of control. In 1984, the form of control is, 'if you do not do what we command we will kill you." It is true that the Bible says, "If any man is reaching out for an office of overseer, he is desirous of a fine work." (1 Timothy 3:1) We should want to receive privileges in the congregation - there is nothing wrong with that. However, the Society makes everyone overly excited about privileges, even making it seem like if someone has not received privileges or been appointed, that something is wrong with them."
1 Corinthians 11:17 (NIV) "In the following directives I have no praise for you, for your meetings do more harm than good."
Very well thought out. What's really important, is rank, even though they swear there are no titles. It degrades everything else. You're either part of the clergy or you're nothing but something to be patronized and told you're never doing enough, and watch out, somebody is always watching for you to slip.

I consider Iran an anti-type that will bring down anti-typical Babylon. The Papacy.
The wtbt$ might declare bankruptcy before then.

The wtbt$ made the rules - either buy in 100% because they never make errors - and with apostolic succession, since they claim a gb existed in 1st century, with no dissent allowed - unlike the 1st century - or become an enemy or dead. Reminds me of one of the last assemblies I attended, when I heard something from the podium about certain ones who were "permanently df'd." The wtbt$ is the apostate church that linked up with the UN.

Why do they just clutch at straws?
by creativhoney inmy ex husband has been spending a lot of time in my company, and i always use the opportunity to throw another quandary his way.
- when i start, he usually puts his hands to his face and says ohhhh not this again.
- i say why are you so afraid, im only asking you a question or offering a fact.. when he does listen to an argument i offer, most of the responses are just clutching at straws.

Understand that you have followed a false prophet. Not that much of what they said was untrue.
The adversary is very adept at quoting Scripture. But now you're stuck.
You have knowledge and nowhere to go with it.
Like all dressed up and nowhere to go.
The choices are here, some reformed jw group, church or nothing, or worse.
Or you could retrace the steps, when the yellow brick road parted in 1916.

It's kind of like belonging on/to the Island of Misfit Toys, isn't it. Speaking the truth, though, always helps, especially when encountering an active jw, or coming to a place such as this. When they knock on your door, invite them in. And be nice. String them along. It'll be like pouring hot coals on their heads when they finally figure out who they're talking to.
