Hi all! Answer to the questions... yes & yes! I've been quietly celebrating for YEARS... without my JW family & friends catching on. I had a husband that wasn't a JW (so it was easy to say I was submitting to his headship!) but am now divorced and since the divorce have had a few non-JW boyfriends. My current boyfriend's family knows of my background and gets a kick out of the fact that I'm more, as they say: "festive", than the rest of them at this time of year. I'm sad that my JW family has never experienced the warmth, light and love of the season. But there's always hope... : ) Side note: it's amazing that non-JW's are so non-judgemental... like my boyfriend's family... they don't care WHAT I call myself, as long as I'm loving, kind and respectful to them and their son.

My past weekend
by Leander insaturday afternoon i made the decision to step down as a minsterial servant.
i had given it a lot of thought and i came to the conclusion that i would be doing the right thing.
i told my wife about the decision i had planned on making and that basically killed her mood for the rest of the day.

Leander... thank you for sharing your heart with us. I totally understand where you're coming from. I keep coming back to this board because I feel the need to be informed. I encourage you to keep at it and don't "neglect the fellowship" of those here that have come to know you a bit and feel for you. If you haven't already, PLEASE read Crisis of Conscience! --JBean

A few things I don't understand about the bible
by Leander inthere have always been things about the bible that never really made much sense to me.
not to say that i disagree with whats in the bible but i have wondered about the fairness of certain things.. 1. for example i've always even as a child thought that it was odd that so many people would die during armageddon.
now as an adult and i understand people better than i did years ago i really do feel puzzled about the fact that according to the scriptures the majority of mankind will perish.

Hi Erik... welcome! I personally feel that is exactly why most JW's preach... that scripture and also the one where Jesus tells his followers to "go and make disciples in all the earth..."

Hi! We've both been on this board for about the same amount of time! Well... I'm still in and finally got the courage to "take a look". This board, as well as key other sites, is helping me immensly in my private, personal struggle. I believe in my first few days of having my "eyes opened", I made a similar comment that there are more than likely hundreds if not thousands of actual CURRENT JW's who are lurking. Time will tell...JBean

The ball is in your court Governing Body of JWs
by Stealth inthe wtbts and gb of jehovahs witnesses have been caught with their pants down with a whore.
by their request to disassociate themselves from the un harlot they are basically admitting that they have been caught and have sinned.. when a r&f jw commits fornication and gets caught, they are normally disfellowhiped.
while this does not happen in all cases, it almost always happens when one does not confess their sin before getting caught.. the judicial committee that deals with a r&f fornication case considers the attitude of the sinner looking for such indicators as:.

Help!! I am extremely confused.
by Leander ini'm at a definite crossroad in my life right now and i don't know which direction to turn.. for my entire life i've been taught to believe in one thing but now i'm seeing things that i never knew where there before.
i find it very disturbing that there has been so many predictions the wts has made in the past that failed to come true.
also the bouncing back and forth on certain doctrines make me question my beliefs.. but on the other hand i can't ignore things like the fact the organization is growing while other religions are on the decline.

You Know,
You bring up a lot of points... but one thing I don't understand: You say that we need to have our faith in Jehovah only to eventually "survive". I agree. You mention that if we put our faith in the WBTS or GB or Watchtower, etc., we of course will be "let down". I agree. So here's my question: Why then to the brothers, congregation, Society, et al totally freak out and disfellowship you if you question them and have the 'nerve' to say that you don't really think that the governing body is correct? or God's mouthpiece? or that they have God's absolute direction, etc? Please don't say that they won't ... I have a few friends and there are PLENTY of experiences on this board and others that say even if they went to the elders for help... the only question the elder's were really concerned about was whether or not the person in question still believed in the society/governing body.
