June 2016 WT (study edition) Bashing Higher Education....AGAIN!
by ToesUp inparagraph 14: .
"this means that we need to examine our heart constantly to see if it is being enticed by worldly entertainment, associations, and styles of dress and grooming.
or the love of the world might involve efforts to attain “great things,” such as through the pursuit of higher education.

They know the kids are ignoring the education directive wherever possible...and broke parents may also be starting to look the other way too, eventually. Especially with this over lapping generation BS and armaggedon not panning out...ahem! -

Hi Luna, thank you for your post. Look forward to hearing more..many people here are in your situation and we fully sympathize😊
To the OP - Nobody hates JWs but we DO hate the policies that harm them...like the family shunning Luna will suffer should she open up to her family how she feels.

Alive My heart breaks reading your post...is there any possibility of fostering? Sometimes I wish we could pair up shunned kids/grandkids with shunned or childless older folk. We only get one shot at this sentient being thing..helping to form the ones we love is is the ultimate for we humans and the nearest we can get to physical immortality. The beautiful thing is we don't have to be physically related to the ones we help to form and send on their life journey.
For me the whole childless thing is the cruellest cut of the watchtower. There are so many lonely, friendless kids out there who would give their eye teeth for the guidance and love of someone as special and selfless as you...

Just noticed you are in the UK. There are many fantastic carer and baby groups in the UK...free or next to nothing to attend with toy libraries often too. It would be a great place for you and your wife to bond with other mums and dads to help with lonliness. Getting to know other new parents is a great way of getting outside the cult support netwotk going. There are also sporty ones like baby yoga or baby joggers/ workout groups...great for you to burn off some of that stress you are building up. Its a great little community , the new parent community...you really see the best in people, working together to make their kids lives better. Hope you get to see this as you last posted so long ago, and that you are OK! -

I've just seen this post and it made me want to cry.
Your dad sounds like the real deal..a gem of a man, seems like you take after him!
I think your wife has been brainwashed into totally trusting elders, and this swine took advantage of that. I'm so glad you stayed together and now you have your little girl too! Don't write off your wife...slowly slowly you CAN in programme her but first you must assert yourself..no more running to daddy. She owes you that honesty at !east..you are a PARTNERSHIP tell her..look where running to elders got her last time.
Any chance of moving away to begin a fade and try to extract her from her toxic family/elders . Talk to her about those family meals first, with the elders laughing about disfellowshipped people. Try to show her there is no loving holy spirit there.
I wish you all the best, you lovely man. People like you make me proud to be a sapien.!!😀

I lied to the elders
by atacrossroads ini stopped attending meetings all together in january 2015. before that my attendance was irregular at best.
my husband followed suit a few months ago after months of research, agony, and indecision on his part.
from the very beginning i laid low and did not share with anyone what i found out about the witnesses because i did not want to be df'd.

I'm so, so glad you are expecting. This is going to be the happiest time of your life..enjoy!!!One door shuts and another opens! Your little one will never know cult indoctrination, or the misery of being a JW kid. I do hope your parents have a relationship with little one . Don't let the dubs come between you and your husband, whatever you do...and get rid of that Advance directive ( blood!!) Thank goodness you will have a safer birth now!
You sound a little bit down...are you OK? Have you thought about seeing a counselor... Its a hell of a lot of stress to go through when you are pregnant. Take care of yourself.

I would rather be in the JW cult than the ex-jw cult
by questioningmyfaith ini have posted one other time on this website.
just for the mere fact that i wasn't anger and bitter and ready to declare the gb the sociopathic criminals that so many here ascribe to, my initial question digressed to bickering over ad hominem attacks against the gb and not my beliefs that i'm questioning.
some did give me some help on my questions.

Giordano After Jonestown my attitude changed about a religion like the JW's when I recognized how dangerous it was to embrace teachings that called for blind obedience......... teachings that called on a believing parent to refuse having their child receive a life saving blood transfusion. Who were willing to allow them to die and keep the favor of their fellow believers. A religion like the JW's expects their followers to go about their business with a suicide note in one's pocket that spelled out NO Blood.
Listening to the Jones town recordings terrifies me...you are so right. For me, I always think when I hear it there but for the grace of JW facts and JW.net go I....

I agree with OTWO. It seems you have reached a place where you can move on...that's great!
But really..without exjws posting fantastic, informative stuff about the watchtower and its history, how many of us would have learnt the ttatt on our own??I for one admit I wouldn't have been smart enough to work it all out.

Barbara Anderson's Paedophilia CD: The Watchtowers Chocolate Cake Defence
by Duncan ini received my copy of barbara andersons cd paedophilia in an american religion a month or two ago, and i have been reading through it since.. what follows, although i have called this a review, is in no sense a scholarly consideration of the legal merits of the cases described, a task for which i am wholly unqualified.
these are, rather, my subjective reflections on the material presented, the impressions i gathered while reading the legal filings, my untrained, common-man appraisal of the cases laid out in those documents.
ill also admit to being swayed by tone of voice adopted, and to using my own common-sense yardstick in determining the reasonableness of the statements made, the responses given and the arguments put forward.

Fantastic. Thank goodness for the law of equity. Stumps the BS ( eventually) every time.
