it happened to me this weekend.
i'm curently "active" and had some long time friends from a different congregation over for dinner.. we went through the formality of praying before the meal.
normally or rather lately i've been passing it off to someone else.
WTWizard this-- "Dear Satan, Prince of Darkness, please cause this work to come to a screeching halt and for everyone in the cancer to succumb to temptation and get disfellowshipped this coming Tuesday night". is the best prayer EVER. Maybe if you decide to DA you should give this prayer and go out in style. lol.
If you do, please let me know so that I can attend that meeting. hahahaha
just thought i'd share that we attended our first "worldly" cookout last weekend.
everyone got drunk and it turned into a huge orgy.
at the end we sacrificed one of the partygoers to gozer the destroyer.. not!.
Sounds lovely Mad! I'm sure you'll start to feel more at home soon. I've been trying to get closer to my family that I've been ingoring for most of my life. It's kinda awkward, but I'm hoping to forge some true & lasting relationships!

Confuzzled- I understand relationships are complicated and I understand you have feelings for this man. I really feel for you. However, I was born a JW, lived it until I was 26 and am now sharing my children with my JW ex husband. IT SUCKS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want to tell you to run away and do it quickly. It is not worth sacrificing your whole self for this man or this relationship. It may sound harsh but that is exactly what you will be doing. How long can you be happy like that? How many times have we seen friends changing things about themselves for lovers? How many times have we watched that trainwreck? Please, please start making a break. It's gonna be hard but you deserve someone that will love you for YOU.

I see. Like they know it's you but an edited version? One of my girlfriends just has hers split up into lists of who can see what. Both plans seems a little tiring. I have less than 5 active JWs on my real FB profile and I don't censor SHIT. lol. Anyone who is offended can de-friend me at anytime. I understand though that wouldn't work for faders.

it was only this past weekend that i finally stated (both aloud and in print) that i would never attend another meeting again.

he has been ill for some time, but it was still unexpected.
he was never a jw and i didn't really have a close relationship with him, since he remarried after my parents divorced.
i reunited with him in the mid 90's after over 10 years of not seeing him.. .
