Mine is flying, and I'm trying to get one for the car. Stores are selling out. Flying my flag demonstrates that I am proud to be part of something bigger than myself. It also shows the chickenshits that did this that free people can't be stomped down that easily.

Our American Flag
by Vienna indoesn't it feel good to not be a jw at this point in history?
through the fear of the last few days, i do have comfort from scripture about my eternal salvation through jesus (as a witness you never felt secure with god--don't miss a meeting or field service for long or you're out), but also because my husband and i can display our american flag on our cars and in front of our house to support our country!.
as americans, we will not stand for terrorism and i'm proud to be in this country.

TALIBAN ASKS for MERCY!
by Amazing inin afghanistan, the so-called faction claiming to be the ruling party over the nation is urging (politicalese term for begging) the usa not to bomb them.
why ask not to be bombed unless they are guilty of harboring the wicked terrorists?
read for yourself.

They say the people of Afganistan already have misery. Give me a break. Most of the misery there has been created by the Taliban.

NATO INVOKES ARTICLE V - Serious
by Amazing inwhen nato invokes article v, it is more than just one member asking for support from the other member states, but article v invocation means all member states view the attack as an attack on them all.
in other words, nato aliance is at war with those responsible, and will support the us lead, which will now hold not only the terrorists responsible, but hold those nations that host them as equally responsible.. "brussels, belgium (cnn) -- nato has unanimously declared the hijack attacks on the u.s. to be an assault against all member states.".
"it is the first time in 52 years that the alliance has invoked article v -- the nato self-defence charter that says if one member state is under attack all other member nations would defend it.".

Who said anything about bombs? I hope we go in and dig the bastards out with bayonets. I don't get this way very often. And I'm glad to see our friends sticking up for us.

Food at Proper Time:Insider's Insight from Barbara
by Maximus inbarbara anderson's attention was called to the thread about the differences in policy of great britain and the us regarding child abuse; as you know she has championed a change in that policy.
another post caught her eye, and she expressed the desire to share some thoughts with you.
i'm delighted to share her first post, which i know you will find riveting.

What was the WT 4/15/92 article you mentioned. I left in 1989 and never saw it.

Deepening Saddness
by Amazing ini look back on the 1970s with a sense of loss and nostalgia.
i was a young man, just married, and so much in love with my beautiful wife.
i had just started my engineering career, and was debt free.

I also became a JW in the early seventies. I'd done the sex, drugs and rock and roll scene in college and felt ready to change. When I became a dub I passed up a chance to go to grad school. Who knows what turns my life might have taken?
However, I met my wife through the dubs. I can't imagine life without her. For that reason alone I wouldn't change anything.
I think that I gained some insight into myself, and I learned to look at the world in new ways when I left.

GOOD QUESTION FOR IN BETWEENERS (Like me)
by StifflersErSlayersBrother inif your were requested for jury duty on a case involving a witness girl being molested or worse, what would your vote be against the wts?.
guilty or not guilty?.
ps, would vote guilty myself...
-
JeffT
You almost certainly would not be allowed on the jury. They do all sorts of things to keep people that might be biased one way or the other off the jury.

TRO VS PPO court orders
by exodus inany one on this db knows if i should use a temporary restraining order or a personal protection order.
i can't remember the difference between them.
if anybody has any information please let know as soon as possible.

It varies depending on where you are. If you are in the US there is likely a free legal service that can answer your question. Trying looking in the community pages part of the phone book.

Hi Again

Hi Tattoogirl, glad you're back.
When I first started studying (in 1973)I had a beard. As my studying progressed I was told it would have to go. But they didn't tell me that until I was sucked in so far I just accepted that. I grew back out even before I'd officially left. My son got his ears pierced about that same time. He'd have been kicked out of the hall if we'd still be in. Daughter got her belly button pierced, ditto. Youngest son wears his hair shaved on the sides, a couple of braids hanging down in front, and its all blue (at the moment). Elders would freak if they saw him.
I've seen all of them get judged on their appearances. But that is the loss of the people making the judgement. Everybody that knows them thinks they are nice kids. The youngest did some work in the office where I work. Everybody loved him.
Don't let a few narrow-minded people screw up your life.
