LATEST NEWS: CANDANCE CONTI VERIDICT READY - WT LOST!!!!!!!
by Viva la Vida ini'm not an expert but that is my understanding of this: .
opinion filed.. (signed published) the judgment against defendants on the negligence count is affirmed.
the judgment against watchtower on the cause of action for punitive damages is reversed with directions to enter judgment for watchtower on punitive damages.

IANAL either but I've been in court on business lawsuits enough times. I agree with cappytan. The actual damages were upheld, the punitive damages were dropped. This is not uncommon with large lawsuits, the original jury slaps the defendant with a ton of additional damages, which get drastically reduced on appeal. -

Ok, so in the spirit of the April broadcast, what do you want to ask god to fix for you?
by stuckinarut2 inso by now most of us have heard about (or watched) the april broadcast and the ridiculous "experience" of the guy that asked god to fix his construction leak before he believed in him..... so, what would you like to "pray that god fixes" in your life??.
humorous or serious replies welcome!
(although sarcastic, cynical and funny replies preferred hehe).

Maybe God could get the Watchtower to stop writing nonsense. -

NHS Finally speak out on the Ashya King story.
by nicolaou ini count brett and nagmeh as personal friends though i've not spoken to them since they left the uk.. my personal interest stated i'm just going to share the link and step back from the discussion.
they are good people, but good people can make mistakes too.
i hope the bbc documentary tonight doesn't demonise them.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-32219005.

My father always described his patients as being in remission until they were cancer free for five years. There's nothing worse than doing a scan, telling the parents their child is cured, only to have it come back six months later. -

DOC (and others)
I think I have both versions. I hope things are going to slow down in my life soon (parent's estate settled, daughter's wedding done), at which point I will try to do a comparison.

Japanese torture of American prisoners in WW2 revealed
by fulltimestudent inthis is not a new story.
the japanese military in ww2 were barbaric in the way they treated captured servicemen.
i was about ten when my father's best friend came home from a japanese prison camp.

That story is a product of the imagination of a revisionist historian.

German POW's that were shipped back to the states in large numbers. Many of them found life as a POW here better than that of a "free" person back in Germany. It was not uncommon for them to march out of the camps to go to work unguarded - we knew they'd come back at night rather than risk a firing squad for escaping.

Tsarnaev guilty - should he get death or not?
by Simon ini think he probably will (it is the us after all) but i hope he doesn't.
he caused incredible pain and suffering to men, women and children who had never done anything to him.
many died in unimaginable agony, others are disabled for life.

Unless he waives his appeal rights locking him up is cheaper than killing him (prison is cheap, lawyers cost hundreds of dollars an hour). I'd tattoo "child killer" on his forehead and put him in General Population at a regular maximum security prison. -

Red Moon Over China
by fulltimestudent inperhaps the recent lunar eclipse was heaven's way of demonstrating approval of the tremendous changes in china.. here's some images from the china daily:.
the total lunar eclipse as observed in shenzhen, south china's guangdong province, april 4, 2015. the moon slipped fully into earths shadow saturday, starting a total lunar eclipse for nearly 12 minutes what guangdong astronomical science association says it was the shortest such eclipse of the century.

That's kind of a lot of trouble isn't it, Jeff?
Yeah, I know I'm kind of funny that way. I have this fetish about trying to learn about stuff for myself.

Active posters: What education have you had, what degrees do you possess?
by EndofMysteries infrom so many posts and conversations on here, you'd think over 1/2 the posters here possess doctorates in theology, physics, biology, etc.
i'm curious aside from the books and research people have done here, what degrees they have.
to start, i just got an aa and going straight through full time to an mba.
-
JeffT
Magnum, are going to finish the degrees? I got my BA just before I became a dub. That resulted in my turning down a chance to get an MA in education. If I had not gone back later to study Business I would seriously regret that. As it was, I feel like I finished my education. (and took some heat in my congregation for doing so). -

I hate this stuff. I don't think anything positive is accomplished by being rude and disrespectful to people. -

Well, I must confess, Morpheus, that I am a rather ignorant sort of fellow, so indeed I did not know that the eclipse (if that is what you implied) was seen everywhere.
I would suggest studying your subject before you post a bunch of nonsense about it.
