Religion is also a protected class, but that apparently doesn't apply to cake bakers. I'm going to start putting "Carnivore" on every form that asks for my racial background. Maybe then it can become a protected class.

What Are Your Rights?
by Simon inrights seem to be everywhere nowadays.
say hello to someone in the wrong way and you've violated 101 of their human rights.
people imagine they have the right to all sorts of things - food, healthcare, housing, internet ... so many things are labelled basic rights and then you get onto their human rights - a favourite of the do-nothing bodies such as the un to declare.

What's the difference between me wanting steak from a restaurant that doesn't serve it, and a gay couple wanting a gay wedding cake from a shop that doesn't make gay wedding cakes?

So can I walk into a vegan restaurant, order a steak and sue them when they don't serve me?

Paying Legal Fees Illegally?
by Charles Gillette inpaying legal fees out of the world wide work fund is it legal to do it?
first we need to know what the purpose is for having a www fund.. i'm not computer savvy or an "it" when it comes to putting information together to show here like so many others here can.. will someone explain how the watchtower society can legally use the www fund to pay out monies, legal fees and court directed payments to the one who have been sexually abused by pedophiles from the watchtower organization.. again what is the sole purpose in establishing the www fund?.
is it not for kingdom interest world wide and not to use it to pay out their guilty criminal activity.

I don't think "world wide work" is a legal organization or a restricted fund. Under US tax law they are allowed to spend money on administrative costs, which would include legal fees and court settlements.

My wife and I left in 1989. We did all our research at the library, which had a pretty good selection of books on the WT. I first read CofC at the library (I was afraid to take it home). I'd been out ten years or so when I discovered this forum.

Political Correctness and Censorship / Banning Books
by TerryWalstrom inbanned books?censorship?.
let’s say you live in a land where the rule is: you can’t offend anyone.okay, fair enough.
let’s take a look at what follows (implicit in this rule).. if you are speaking to 10 people, is it okay to offend 1 in 10?

Here in Seattle a few years ago a Native-American woman (who admitted she had not read the book) tried to have "Brave New World" banned because of references to "Savages." I can't remember if she was successful. The best comment I heard was "if she read the book she'd know the 'Savages' are the good guys."

Here's a few more to add to the reading list:
"The Kingdom of the Cults", and "Jehovah of the Watchtower" by Walter Martin
"The Four Major Cults" by Anthony Hoekema
"When Prophecy Fails" by Leon Festinger et al. This is an academic study of a UFO cult's failed prophecy and its effect on believers. Although not directly related to the Watchower it explains a lot about why believers stick with it.

If you are in the United States (or many other countries I assume) the employment security office will have all sorts of useful linformation, and possibly even classes. You do not (at least here in Washington State) have to be on unemployment to make use of these programs.
Also a lot of private employment agencies and temporary agencies will be able to offer good advice.

Flawed Website
by pinkpizza inwhen i first seen this website i actually thought it was a jw website hence the home page and not an ex jw website and i posted a topic thinking people were real witnesses then i quickly discovered it was not and all these people were commenting and embarrassing me and i couldn’t even delete the thread.
then i asked the admin to delete it and i said it was very misleading saying it’s a jw page and he’s like are you serious i deleted your topic and now you are attacking me and it clearly says ex jw page.
he was very rude and btw no where does it say ex jw and you should be able to delete your own threads you start.

Last I heard, starting, running, or visting a JW related website that is not JW.borg is strictly against the rules. It is amusing to watch someone disobey the people they say are God's channel of communication, and then complain about what they found.

Warning: autistic screeching ahead ...
by LoveUniHateExams ina regular guy went into a vape store in georgia recently, to buy his wife some liquid for her e-cigarettes.
his big mistake was to wear a trump t-shirt.
the shop assistant went completely mental because of the t-shirt.. the customer remained calm throughout and eventually got the product he wanted (i think).. but what a scene!

LoveUniHateExams, I agree totally with your last two paragraphs. I'm no fan of Trump's, but the nonsense going on from the left is going to drive people into his camp.
