Will AAWA Become another cult?
by His Excellency inplease sorry for english, i have only been learning for 18 months.
everyone please think about it, and beware of any initiative designed to solve "a community problem".
becasue russel also started his own cult on a similar premise like this , claiming to have all the answers to issues whose solutions seems obscured to the majority in his days, and here we are today, constantly bashing our fingers on the keyboard in a bid to finding comfort from the mess he had put all of us into.

Jesus Christ and General Jackson, you've known about AAWA for what? all of five minutes and you're warning people that it might be a cult? Here's a news flash to everybody: IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT DON'T JOIN IT. And don't open threads about it if don't want.
That being said, I think all we need is more of an open-source colony, as opposed to a close-knit swarm demanding undue attention and unnecessary time consuming efforts.
Go ahead and start one.
John Cedars is free to put up any association He desires and with whomever He wishes,
Gee, how nice of you.
but this forum shouldnt be a recruiting ground for such endeavour IF HE IS UNWILLING TO LISTEN TO THE VIEWS OF THE MEMBERS HERE.
My condolences to Ang, I wasn't aware that Simon died and left you in charge. Last time I looked, the rules don't demand that any of us listen to anybody else if we don't want to.
I don't know what's wrong with all the mopes whinning about AAWA. If you don't like the name, or the organization, or the fact that nobody put you in charge of it, get off you lazy butts and do something yourselves.

They gotta be kidding!
by Bella15 inokay... soooooooooo... after 23 years my hardcore jw sister admits her 23 years old daughter may be the product of an adulterous relationship with another jw brother and is doing dna testing ... when this issue came up 23 years ago, she dismissed it as a rumor/gossip from her non-jw husband's family which happened to be source that told my brother in law about my sister's infidelity ... the reputation of this poor non-jws was just blasted to the floor as just another sign of how wicked wordly people are .... this happened in another country, so now she told the elders in her congo here in usa about this so now the only "privilege" she will have is to go door to door preaching ... i was like what ... this hypocrite has been going door to door all of this time pretending she is better than billions of human beings all the while knowing what she has done in the past ... she has played the martyr for sooooo long and she is allow to continue "going door to door" ... for me it is like they only care about bringing money/donations ... for me she should be allow to participate in the meetings and do whatever inside their kh and cult but avoid going to the public pretending she is better than the rest of human kind that will be destroyed in armageddon ... wow!.
i am sure she is not repentant, she is either going after some money - really - or now that she is divorced is trying to connect with this man again somehow ... i already made bets with my other non-jw sister ... lol ... we think she is going for both ... lol.

What a shitty thing to do a 23 year old. Oh by the way, we're going to do some DNA testing, your Dad may not be your Dad, it could be some other guy. I hope somebody is going to step up to the plate and pay for her therapy.

in regards to AAWA
by johnamos inoh how i wish i could just write out something that would cause you all to know and understand that what i say is true.
or i wish i could tell yall that i am going to do something like cause an earthquake (with jehovahs spirit backing me) at a certain place and time, then after i posted such info then it occurred just as i said...then maybe you would listen and believe what i say.. .
and even more so, your lack of knowledge and belief in jehovah and in his word the bible.

I just read those scriptures. What do they have to do with the WTBS and AAW?

There is a Mole in Brooklyn
by Oubliette inreading cedar's excellent article about the july 15, 2013 new-light" study edition of the watchtower got me thinking:.
the control freaks in brooklyn known as the governing body (aka fds) must be having conniption fits knowing that there is a mole in bethel leaking information to apostates!
"three weeks ahead of its expected release date in mid-april, a scanned copy of the july 15 2013 "study edition" of the watchtower was leaked to the office of jwsurvey by a conscientious active witness within the organization.".

Mole problems? Suddenly, I'm thinking of an episode of Arrested Development.
I was thinking "Caddy Shack" but the idea is the same.

Was G.Bush Jnr, the most wasteful politician in History
by fulltimestudent indoing the us news rounds today was a fascinating harvar uni study on the true cost (yet to be paid) of george bush jnr's military adventures.
particularly, since the story comes as the us admits its been unable to win these wars.
so what is it going to cost you good people who have the misfortune to have had george for a prezzie?

If George W. Bush didn't exist Democrats would have to invent him.

There are really TWO Watchtower Societies
by Terry inwith cedars release of leaked watchtower new light "adjusting" understanding of "who" the faithful and discreet slave is.....i am struck by something which similarly struck me back in 1967.in 1967 i had just been imprisoned.
being a male jehovah's witness during the viet nam war meant certain "issues" arose affecting a decision to respond to the military draft.i have told the story before.
but, i'd like go at it from another angle in view of the above mentioned new light about the fds fora different reason.it was first in 1967 i began to discover that there are two watchtower societies.let me explain why i say this and for what reasons.first of all, anybody standing in a kingdom hall or sitting in a seat at a vast international assembly saw people they would identify as all on the same page.

In general I agree with your assessment, when I became a JW I THOUGHT I was joing a group of people who studied the Bible carefully and attempted to learn what it said with preconceived notions of dogma. By the time I found out what the real deal was, I was sucked in to far to get out easily. Obviously, I made it out eventually.
A couple of the pieces of advice you got do make sense though. The draft boards wanted to hear that you were a Consciencious Objector based on personal belief. If you went in and said I can't fight because I'm a JW (or a Quaker or whatever) you were done. Taking the physical was also a good idea. After sweating about it for four years in college I found out I was 4F when I took my physical in my senior year.
The thing about the alternate service deal that really gets me is the double standard in Mexico.
