who pays for the environmental cleanup of that site? I don't know how it works in the UK, in the US that would be a pile of money. I would guess there's fifty thousand cubic yards of contaminated dirt on that site. Plus all the cars etc.

So we have now joined the most oppressive regime of the 20th Century in its new Holy War against the Middle East,
Really?
I'd suggest a trip to the library, or at least spend some time on Google to get a bit of perspective. Here are a few names to look up, in no particular order. Stalin, Hitler, Lenin, Pol Pot, Enver Pasha, Mao, several guys named Kim, Pinochet, the Argentine Junta, Ceausescu. That's a good start. We may have some problems but we're no where near "most oppressive."
As to OP, my thoughts are with the people of Canada today, no matter what the motivation of the person or persons who did this, you didn't deserve it.

a young 14 year old girl was disfellowshipped in my former congregation last week
by alexandre ina baptized girl from my former cong.
was expelled out because she participated in more than one porn videos with classmates in the school and theses videos became public.
she is 14 years old and grew up as witnesses.but anybody knows she had many boyfriends and she-, but that thing was unbelievable!

Sir82 got it right. This is a crime. The girl needs professional counseling and anybody else involved needs investigating. Shunning is the least responsible thing the elders could do.
First question the cops and counselors are going to want answered is: is she the victim of prior abuse by an adult? It is not uncommon for abused children to act out in very inappropriate ways, because that's what they've been taught to do.

One Day assembly in Arizona- $17,000 !!
by AndDontCallMeShirley ini heard from a reliable source that a one-day assembly in arizona last weekend had a "cost" to the publishers of $17,000.. predictably, the elders were nice enough to obligate the attendees to a $6,000 donation to wt before the assembly "costs" (i.e.
"rent/extortion) were even met.
$11,000 rent plus $6000 in extra "donations".

OK I just took a look at conference spaces in the Seattle area. I can get one in Shoreline (suburb a little north of Seattle) that will hold 600 people. It costs around $150-200 a day (weekends are at the top of that range) for a non-profit. There's a bigger venue in Bellevue, that can comfortably handle 3000 people. I can't find rates for that area, but I doubt it runs more than $2000 - 3000 a day.

Hilarious Rumor: Halloween falls on Friday the 13th for first time in 666 years.
by OnTheWayOut inthe date passed by already, so i will mention the silly rumor that was going around.
this is freaking hilarious.
the rumor is a gullibility joke where it is hoped that the reader fails to remember that this holiday observance is on the fixed date of october 31st.

A friend posted that on facebook. My response was "this year, even Friday the 13th doesn't fall on Friday the 13th."

What is this phenomenon?
by exWTslave inthough my colleague had requested for one week extension of her leave as her typhoid was becoming more stubborn, she came to work after two days.
when asked what miracle took place, she had this to say: your wording seems to be correct.
you would rememberi contracted typhoid same time last year.

She took leave when her diagnosis (after going to the hospital) confirmed she has typhoid. She asked for extension when it got worse. But this is not the subject!
Yes it is. This story is not believable from the start.
Yet you too know that things like this are also happening. Whether you accept it or not is entirely different matter.
I accept that BS stories are circulated everyday. I also accept that people die from reading this crap and thinking it works.
A few questions:
When and where did this happen?
Who was the doctor that made the diagnosis? Where are his lab notes?
Who was the doctor that confirmed the disease was gone? Where are his notes on the case?
Was she taking antiobiotics at the same time? How do we know that was not what cured her?
And lastly, why in God's name did this woman come down with Thyphoid TWICE? What is the health department doing?

Put simply, I don't believe it.
For starters, an actual diagnosis of thypoid means a trip to the hospital, and probably a phone call to the health department. No responsible employer will make you request an extension on your sick leave if you have it. They won't let you back in the building until you have a note from your doctor saying you're healthy. And its not something that goes around once a year like the flu. And its cause, a bacteria, is well known and documented. "Negative energy" whatever that is, has nothing to do with it.
The details of this story don't add up.
