Is that a time when u know yourself? I didn't. Is that a good basis for a marriage?
Many people are still discovering their likes and dislikes at 30! ...much more so at 18 or 19.
One universal theme I've noticed is that most people dislike feeling alone: It's more comforting to know that you have "someone" to hang out with, share life with. Of course for the fickle ones out there, the novelty of ANY new relationship wears out after a while and they are off pursuing someone new.

when i found this site i considered myself a fader with family still in the cult.
i thought that i should limit personal information so that any lurking scumbag wts reps couldn't track me and jeopardize the relationships i walk on eggshells to maintain with my family.
but something happened last night that caused me to suddenly not give a rats anal orifice what jw's think.. i got called 'daddy'.. my wife and i went through the court system in the early 90's to get her 2nd cousin who was 11 at the time, out of protective services (which was a group home for abused children).

surely we can all feel jealousy, it's just that the triggers are set differently for everyone.. i'll admit to having been jealous at times, my own insecurities got the better of me, but jealousy is truly corrosive and anyone who intentionally sets out to make their partner feel jealous needs a good smack on the bum!.
I'm curious too know how far any of you can be tolerant of a partners flirtatious behaviour
That's actually a really good question. When you consider that the opposite of love is Apathy.
If, hypothetically, a person can tolerate outright and flagrant flirting from their spouse without even a mild protest, there has to be something wrong with that person. That apathy would signify an absence of love. On the other hand, (and equally bad) the one doing the flagrant flirting would be exhibiting a symptom that there's commitment lacking on their part to go as far as violate the trust that is essential to a successful marriage.

regardless of who your significant other is, i've found that people have a definite preference for hair color.
what i found even more interesting is that people usually preferred a hair color different than their own.

i can't help but have noticed that the us tv and film industry more than not portray phone conversations finishing without any 'goodbyes'.
someone will say, for example, 'see you at the mall' then put down the phone.. is this a reflection of the norm in us land or just filming priorities of time and money?.

every now and then a day can put things into perspective.
i can be pissed because; a car driver cuts me off while riding a bike, verizon want me to pay bs charges on my phone bill, or thirdwitness is defending the watchtowers abuse policy.
but, today, my uncle fell down the stairs and shattered his skull.
Unepected things like this really make me pause and appreciate each day more.
I hope you have someone near you for comfort and emotional support.
You obviously care about and appreciate your uncle. When someone we love and admire is hurt it's natural to hurt too.

Under_beliver, Maybe you feel like this because both categories (believers and non-believers) are rather broad and give little information about the person being described. These labels tell us more about what a person is not rather than what a person IS.
There have been absolute jerks who are atheists (such as Hitler as was mentioned.)
And there are abosolute jerks who are very religious (such as the GB.)
So when I want others to know about me and what I'm devoted to, I try to be more specific. I might say I'm a "devoted mom." "funny" or "great cook." A single person might say they are "devoted to their carreer" or they are "environmentalists," etc. you get the idea. So, you might decide to avoid categorizing yourself into those two very broad labels and just think of your self as __________________________ (Whatever your life focus happens to be.)
