(although i guess i shouldn't be) that the ordinary jw has no concept of the 'organization' in control.. every thing is 'jeh' 'jah' that, every teaching they support is attributed to jah.

Let's see if I follow the logic correctly:

1. the WTBTS teaches that the rulers in the new world will be taken from the elders, MS, pioneers, COs, DOs, Bethelites, etc from the current organization.

2. The Bible says that houses will be built in the new world for the people.

3. The WTBTS put together a quick build program which can build very large buildings in 3 days. So, it stands to reason that they could be a house in 2 days.

4. The WTBTS has assets totalling in the hundreds of billions.

5. Yet, when suggestions are made to use the quick build program to provide housing for destitute JWs now the WTBTS says that it is not a social welfare agency and they refuse to even CONSIDER the idea.

6. But, these same unfeeling, stingy overseers who refuse to use their capabilities and assets to help JWs in need now are somehow going to miraculously change in the New Order and build houses for us then?

Excuse me if I am a bit confused on this one.

I'm not sure what men you know but all those descriptions made me kind of sick.

You left off one: Real Man

Strong

Self Confident

Does what needs to be done when it needs to be done without whining about it, if necessary takes a deep breath first and braces himself.

Does not tolerate nonsense.

Dependable.

Consistent.

Has big heart and is not afraid to use it.

Makes committments and honors them.

Keeps his promises.

Does not make promises lightly, but if he does make a promise only Hell or high water can make him break the promise.

Provides for those who he loves and those who depend on him.

Generous.

Empathetic to a high degree.

Loving.

Kind.

Treats everyone with respect, dignity, kindness and consideration. Even people who are in an "inferior" position like waitstaff, hotel clerks, store clerks, etc.

Honest. Views lying and liars as DESPICABLE behavior and won't tolerate them.

Educated. Self educated if need be.

Curious. Einstein said that one's intelligence was measured by the depth of their curiosity and imagination.

Loves with a total lack of inhibition, boudaries, reservation, or constraint. Loves with his whole heart, soul, spirit, mind, body, and will.

Does not make excuses or accept excuses from others.

In relation to how he treats his woman (yes, he owns his woman )

Does not criticize.

Does anything he can to make her life easier. Carries the heavy burdens on HIS shoulders so that she has more time for important things like getting her nails painted, getting her hair done, picking out lingerie.

Pretends to listen when she blathers on and on about stuff which he has no idea what she is talking about.

Takes the lead in finding fun things to do.

Takes out the garbage without being nagged to death about it.

Doesn't tolerate being nagged to death about stupid stuff.

Doesn't argue about stupid crap.

Finds profound things to read and shares them.

Finds beautiful music to listen to and shares it.

Well I could go on but I think you get the idea.

Re Cuba - "They have a good health care system". Or, "They have free public education".

Re Hezbollah - "They give free medicine to the poor".

This list could go on and on but I think the point is made.

ok i'm not sure where to put this thread, but seeing as this section is the one that is most frequented by members, i hope to get some feedback asap.. i am a person that has issues with depression and fairly recently i have started paying a bit of attention to my 'mood swings' and have noticed a sort of high in addition to my lows.

this has made me a little worried that i might have some mild form of bpd.... but then i do tend to worry over nothing!.

i do not have therapy because i currently cannot afford it.

Hi, I can sympathize. My disorder was not depression, although the symptoms were very similar to manic depression. REALLY high highs, followed by REALLY low lows. I was also kind of crazy, hard to explain.

Turns out I had vasculur dementia. I found that out because of the girl that I was seeing who I later married.

So, let me tell you about her. We met when she was living several states away from me, we talked on the phone a lot. She knew something was wrong with me, but she figured that love would take care of it. I got REALLY bad and she was on the next plane to me to take care of me.

No matter what was going on with me she was always there and always ready to apply liberal amounts of love. Trust me, I said a lot of REALLY crazy things during this time.

She was the one that took me to the clinic where they properly diagnosed my condition.

My point is, not that I expect your boyfriend to get on a plane, but if he really loves you then he will apply love to help you and wouldnt be doing all this stupidity just because you have issues.

I do lots of writing and here is how I do it.

First, I do what I call the brain dump. I just get all my ideas on paper as quickly as possible. At this point I am not trying to fill in the ideas with context, just get out the ideas.

Here is an illustration to help you understand what I mean. Imagine you are gonig to call your friend on the phone. Before you make the call you have in mind the ideas you want to discuss during the call. But, you do not write out a word for word script of everything you will say. You fill in the details and the context for the idea while you are talking.

So, the brain dump is just to get the ideas on paper. Format doesn't matter, you can use bullet points, numbered list, roman numeral outline, whatever.

Second, I do what I call the ten percenter. Now, I take the ideas and put them into some kind of order. I give the thing I am writing a title. I give it a table of contents to the degree that I can, the table of contents at this point will be incomplete but I don't care. Then I arrange the ideas into sections, what might be chapters in a book or section headings in a white paper. Now for each idea I write one paragraph. Then I add an executive summary and a conculsion and a bibliography and an index. I create a glossary of terms at this point.

When the ten percenter is done now you have your book / paper / article. You are just missing the context and the details.

So take each idea and fill in the details. Make sure that you have a paragraph that puts each idea into context of the whole and that ties each idea to the previous and next idea.

I find that this approach helps me take something that I view is overwhelming and break it into manageable pieces. It gives me a place to hang everything, then I just have to expand on the the details.
