They don't reshape them, if you read real history and archaeology sources and not just the ideology put out by the church of progress you quickly realize that humans have almost always traveled and traded globally. The dark ages interrupted this travel and the church of progress claims that the voyages of "discovery" made by the Europeans who were emerging from the dark ages were the "first" but this was disproven long ago.

Greenland discovery
by designs indna tests were performed on a human from the saqqaq tribe in greenland from 2500 years ago and suggest these siberians migrated some 5500 years ago to the region.
his gene sequencing tags him as siberian and linked to modern inuit but not to central and south american native tribes.. how do these discoveries reshape your views on human migration and the history of the human gene pool and those outlined in the bible.. ie active uninterrupted civilizations at the time of the biblical flood.. .

Sanctions do not now and have never worked to deter a ruthless totalitarian regime. Even if they did work the current US administration lacks the resolve to use the only sanction that might have a chance and that is the total blockade of the refineries that Iran depends upon for its gasoline. This could easily be accomplished and the Iranian economy would collapse. But, of course Mr. Hugalot Obama is not going to propose any such sanction.

Nature of God; history of triad gods; monotheism; validity of long standing beliefs
by In ini'd love to hear more from the scholars on the site here.
i've done some reading, but can't really sort it out myself and don't have much time for research.. the question is (after reading the proskenuo thread): if jesus is part of a triad god, i'd like to know how far back triad god's go in terms of human history?.
is there any evidence in the old testament for a triad god?

The concept of a triune godhead is as old as humankind. It appears in numerous pantheons which have permeated all ages of humanity.

John 9:38 in NWT renders it as formerly blind man "did obeisance" to Jesus. Other translations state he,"worshiped Jesus". Who's right?
by miseryloveselders inthis is the story regarding the man blind from birth, whom jesus healed.
the verses in question go in context, ............... .
(john 9:35-41)35 jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and, on finding him, he said: are you putting faith in the son of man?

I find this nitpicking over obesience vs worship (by the WTBTS) to be a bit disingenuous. Miriam Webster dictionary defines obesience as "a movement of the body made in token of respect or submission". Isn't obesience in the contexts given in the scriptures above simply the act of worship? So using the word obesience instead of worship is like saying "Joe shook BillyBob's hand" instead of saying "Joe greeted BillyBob". The second sentence describes what happened, the first sentence describes how it happened.

What's in it for the Governing Body?
by dissed infor many jw's, they point to the gb as wonderful examples of zealous, humble, older men that are only serving jg for right and correct reasons.. unlike many of the preachers we see on tv, they are, and this is the important point, 'not in it for the money'.. of course we see them differently on this site, exposed many times over, as being self-serving hypocrites.. but if you want to win-over a jw doubter, this is one of the questions you have to answer.
"what's in it for the gb member?
why are they doing this if not for the money?".

What Biology teaches us about the nature of God....
by HappyGuy inthe biologist j. s. b. haldane liked to say that if biology had taught him anything about the nature of the creator, it was that he had an inordinate fondness for beetles".. nearly 70% of all species of animals are insects, most of those are beetles.. .

So where do you do the research?
by ConnieD29 inok so i'm really trying to figure out what i believe about the bible, god, religion, etc... where do you research or find something to study that isn't tainted with someone else's beliefs or opinions?
this might be a dumb question, but i seriously don't even know where to start.. .
thanks,.

I know this is going to sound strange, but I would recommend to read the book "The Timeless Way of Buiilding" by Alexander. It explains what patterns are and how to observe them, find them, etc.
This book really opened up my thinking.
The examples used are the construction industry but patterns can apply to anything.

ConnieD29,
Why would you assume that you should base your beliefs about life, the universe, and everything on what the Bible says (even assuming that anyone could understand what it says)?
I think you would be better off to stay away from the bible if you are searching for the meaning of life. The answer to that question is not in there.

mrsjones,
About two years later our mortgage was sold to an outer state company and unbeknownst to us said company didn't transfer over or even acknowledge the disability insurance that was incorparated in our monthy house note. And that's one of the factors that led to us losing our home.
I'm not a lawyer but it seems to me like you have a really good legal case against both of these mortgage companies. I would sue them both together because one is going to say "we sent them the disability insurance" and the other one is going to say "no they didnt".
I'm not trying to be nosy, but have you talked to a really good contracts lawyer about this situation?

My children's grandmother tries to keep them from getting their burned home repaired....
by HappyGuy ini knew that jehovah's witnesses were callous and cruel but this just takes it to a new level.. my children's house was burned in a fire and their idiot mother (my ex wife) did not have insurance on the house.. home depot is trying to help them and has offered to donate materials to repair the house and has asked habitat for humanity to get involved to supply the labor.. the habitat for humanity district manager came to my children's house and met the home depot district manager and my children.. after they left my children's grandmother (who lives in the house) told them that if habitat for humanity is involved in fixing the house that she will refuse to live there any more because they are involved with christendom.
so, she is putting pressure on my ex wife to leave the house burned and leave my chlidren (her grandchildren) homeless.. my middle daughter said "well, we will miss you when you leave".
my youngest daughter said, "well i guess i won't be seeing you any more because i refuse to live in a burned house when people are offering to help fix it but you and my mother are so stupid and retarded that you won't let them help".. please tell me that my ex wife won't be stupid enough to go along with this nonsense.

Cameo,
I dont know the woman is pretty batty and stubborn. And she hasn't been to meetings in years and is old school, she is 80 and learned the "truth" back in the "religion is a snare and a racket days". Besides my children don't have time for her to go through all that correspondence with "headquarters", it isn't their concern anyway.
Since the house does not belong to her and she has no say in who fixes it I cannot begin to imagine why this is an issue.
