Circuit Accounts Servants Confesses how the SCAM WORKS!!
by JT inyes, i too have wondered how an assembly that is held in a fully paid for assembly hall, with no food service, could possibly have $10,000 in expenses.
i suppose the bethel speakers have transportation expenses - maybe $1000 or so.
as for rent on the assembly hall, well you have already paid for it once, why pay again?

The society gets to rent out district convention sites for free!!!??
by EndofMysteries inlook what i just found.... "the jehovahs witness convention, christian congregation was approved for a $30,000 grant to offset the cost of renting veterans memorial arena july 4-6 and july 18-20.".
http://www.jaxdailyrecord.com/showstory.php?story_id=542296.
i wonder how much are they charged for that event or if it ends up being close to free since the city will say it will generate revenue for the city.

If that's the case, then when they announce "expenses for this weekend have been $30,000, (then in a pathetic almost crying voice while donations have already been close to $30,000), donations have been $10,500, resulting in a deficit of $19,500, thank you for your contributions :crying: in which they squeeze another 10-15k in donations for a total of $45,000 when the event cost was free and off to the GB retirement fund. Does it work something like that?

I know of one couple that were married for 15/20 years and he only had relations with his wife on the wedding night. She decided she didn't like sex and never did it again with him after.
One of my old friends got married and told me shortly after she wasn't into it and he was lucky if once a month.
Not being compatible in that department I'm sure would have many problems.

Probably figured out that they get the same donation amount for special assembly day and the circuit assembly so cutting off a day lets them keep more money and push more assemblies, sell off some assembly halls.

Curious change in December 15 Study Article
by Bobcat ini ran across a change between the printed edition of the december 15, 2013 wt study edition and the magazine as a pdf download from the jw.org website.. whether the change amounts to much, i'm not sure.
but it is curious.
the change is in paragraph 16 on page 15:.

With those changes, the printed article seemed very specific for the meetings/kingdomhall and the online one was general.
Two theories here....
1. Wording and phrases are changed for worldwide use vs USA only, so the USA printed ones had that. (this could be proven or disproven with English watchtowers in other english speaking countries or maybe foreign language.
2. MORE DUBIOUS - they may be inserting things and testing out having the wording on printed 'studied and only active members' WT vs the online articles that anybody can get. (They may be trying to test means of propaganda and being able to continue using words and teachings such as ex members being 'mentally diseased' where it will only be on the printed form and the online version will be sugar coated. )

the star of bethleham comong from satan
by nonjwspouse infor some reason my husband has picked this topic after months of non communication of anything related biblical at all.
( he believes he came up with the idea onhis own ( he was raised jw and left as a 18 year old...ugh...right).
so since this was his topic my own thoughts have been expressed as well.

EndofMysteries
This is a topic I was planning to research more one day.
My thoughts as of now for some possibilities are this.....
The scriptures say the sun/moon/stars were also made for signs and marking 'times'. In the OT, there are numerous prophecies with specific times, 70 weeks, 1280 days, time times and half a time... Jesus talked about the time of the gentiles, etc.
Is it known where exactly the magi came from? What country? What religion? Israel in Jesus time was from the tribe of Judah I believe....but there were 12 tribes and many had been scattered and many of the teachings could have been scattered as well.
So there may have been a prophecy for the messiah to be born, and the star meant the astrologists saw the time had come. Possibly the location was previously revealed or perhaps something in that prophecy if it existed required the stars to be in a certain alignment marking the time and to be observed from a certain focal point at a certain time which may have mapped and guided to them where to go.

Now predicting increase of anointed?
by jgnat ini came across this nugget in the may 2014 issue:.
"are you moving ahead with jehovah's organization".
....at one time, the anointed remnant were like the little one, but their number grew as other spiritual israelites were brought into gods organization.

A possibility I have wondered about the 144,000 and the other sheep......Could the 144,000 represent those from the BLOOD LINE of Abraham? And the other sheep are non israelites? I know JW's incorrectly teach that israelites are done for, yet Romans 11, it reveals a sacred secret, that israels blindness is only until the full number of gentiles join, THEN they get the blindness removed.

Is there a pedophile epidemic ?
by Snoozy inafter reading another thread on pedophiles i was wondering if there is a pedophile epidemic or is it just that we now have more access to the information?
it seems like everywhere you read there are more and more cases being reported.
are we becoming a nation with no morals at all?

EndofMysteries
One of the biggest problems is that there are too many things being classified as the same thing.
For example all of these scenarios I've seen classified as pedophile.....
Both consenual, one age 18 one age 15 or 16.
Non consenual one age 45 one age 9.
Non consenual one age 13 one age 6.
Both consenual, one age 38, one age 17.
Technically, pedophilia is prepubescence, so under the ages of 11 to 13. After puberty, depending on the country and it's laws, the age of consent throughout the world on average is age 16.
But you have all these different variables and they are combining every instance into the same title. Consenting, nonconsenting, porn only and within porn both pre and post puberty, a huge age gap, a minor age gap, technicality because of the law (for example a 17 year old and 18 year old where the 18 year old can get in trouble), etc.
If they stop classifying everything as the same thing, then it'll be easier to get an idea of where the real problems are really at.

These videos are horrendous!
To the person who said, The Stepford Elders, that's exactly what I thought. They don't even seem human. If Spielberg does another "AI" movie, these guys would be perfect for the robots prior to having emotions.
Some things that stuck out to me......
1. The elders talking to the guy about how his going to them and confessing to them, and they bring out the scripture about the greasing of the head and help. What help did they do? Even on their own standards they didn't do any help. They quote the scripture then they are there to judge if they think he is repentant enough or not.
2. They want him to break up immediately and cut all contact with that girl. Does the bible say a man who does not provide for his own family is WORSE than a man without faith? And the bible is very strong on God siding with the 'fatherless boy' and the widow. So they are encouraging him to desert his unborn child?
3. I think the video on suicide counseling should be shared with news and real doctors to give their commentary.
4. The society claims to have no ruler except Jesus and to follow no man, yet on this so called judicial matter, they don't go to the bible and prayer, they go right to the handbook with notes by the uninspired governing body to pass judgement that they will tell the person is backed up fully by God. There are several scriptures in the bible that say those who prophesy in God's name, or say things in his name he did not say, or tell others what God says is there condition in his eyes will be put to death.
