  ^ jam said. Also many stories about Rutherford not being a moderate or occassional glass of wine drinker, but a heavy drinker/drunkard. AND where do you think the money to purchase all those cases of booze came from? Did the apostle paul take in money from the early christians to buy alcohol and throw 'symposiums'?

  I just had a , symposium was most likely introduced to JW terminology by Rutherford. In ancient Greece, the symposium (Greek συμπόσιον symposion, from συμπίνειν sympinein, "to drink together") was a drinking party.

  Possibly his love of the drink inspired calling those presentations symposiums, as he probably through a few symposiums after the conventions.

  i just noticed on jw org they have a publication called the 2014 jw research guide.

  browsing the topics, you can see it's the up to date doctrine.

  one category for example is 'recreation and entertainment' and it's filled with gems referenced for research for jws, articles such as, "keep leisure in it's proper place", "why won't my parents let me have fun?

  The reason it's a 'partial' index is because there is only so much crap they can publish in 14 years time compared to the past 100 years. They only want things from 2000 onward and ultimately want all members to ignore anything older than a few years so they can things up as they go with no accounting for it and can be unchallenged in their claim to power.

  worldly women don't all ask you to see her aquarium

  last night i was watching the secret elder's video about the jw who sleeps with a worldly women and i could not stop laughing.. when i was 17 i thought that all worldly women would sleep with anyone, i remember a beautiful neighbor who i tried to kiss and she just flat out said no.

  i tried twice to make out with this girl and i just could not understand why she would not say yes .

  she did not have an aquarium.... .

  I agree Scary.

  I was actually shocked that they were trying to make him severe his relationship with her and never speak to her again. It would make sense according to their doctrine if she was NOT pregnant. I guess they forgot the scripture about those who don't provide for their own are worse than a man without faith. If she was pregnant with his child and wanted to get married, I would have thought their counsel would be he needs to man up and be ready to take care of the child. He can marry her as well, but life may be a struggle since they are not on the same level in regards to religion.

  the guide only links to WT material from the past 5 to 10 years. Obviously all of this new light, one needs to be updated on what they can and can't do. Although it's easily summarized as anytime you have a few minutes, it should be spent in service or reading the WT's.

  Yea and some more information. It's a great photo but unlike the photo of him w/ the mansion and rich detailed undisputable information I've never seen anything on this. Just rumors he liked to drink, drunkard, and this picture.

  once more i look to the jwd brains trust for assistance and information.. over the years, much has been discussed and written on the wtss use of the jehovah in its nwt translation of the christian greek scriptures (new testament, or nt).

  [page 343] the divine name jehovah is used at the 6,823 places of the occurrence of the tetragrammaton and in some one hundred and thirty-four other cases of emendation.

  what do these tell us about the translator of the nwt ot?.

  Here is an interlinear of the hebrew scriptures, YHWH is there, a more accurate translations would be Yahweh but anyway it's in the OT unlike the NT. In the NT, when it quotes the OT, that can be a safe assumption but when not quoting the OT, whenever they insert Jehovah is shaky.
