Oh happy people

what is it with meetings?.

so often she comes home throws her bag down and stomps around the house.

there are times it thoroughly gets me down.. + supportive comment welcome.

With my wife, if I don't go to the meeting there'll first be this silent disapproval attitude, with loud actions announcing it's time for getting ready to go to the meeting, and also quiet staring before leaving for the KH.

Then once back at home there will be more unspoken tension, loud putting away of books, and meeting clothes, and side stares that linger. All this until time passes, she has a couple glasses of merlot, or can't stand it anymore and says some personal jab needing discussion and reassurance that I love her and I'm not avoiding meetings to "hurt" her.

Trying to be the adult in a situation where one of the mates is still under the claws of a "cult" makes family life "difficult".

A troubling visit with a satisfying end.

so, i've been out for 2 years now.

just picked up and walked away from the wacky religion that tried to control every part of my life through fear and guilt.

i've been wondering as the months go by what would happen when an elder finally showed up at my door and pressed the issue as to why i ceased all activity and then tried to reactivate me.

on a recent visit to our capital..such an adrenalin rush when i rounded a corner and spotted carters !!.

wandered slowly over and pretend to be interested..asked could i take mag...initial impression (and i'm in no way snobbish) was 2 scruffy looking dowdy sisters wich irritated me i don't know why....i was allways struggling as a single mum but refused to look like a tramp!!.

sister jumped asked if i was interested in religion i said no too much abuse etc ...she said she undwrstood and went on to blather about catholic abuse scandal!

It's not really about political correctness. It's about having symbols of our country represent values that matter to an equal and free society.

The age of white man oppression over women and minorities has to end sometime. I personally am all for the change of Tubman's profile (a woman recognized for her efforts to free slaves) over Jackson's (a President who connived and ordered the expulsion and forced resettlement of of Native Americans from their ancestral lands, thousands who died in what's been called the Trail of Tears).

Any thought behind your " Avatar"

i think that's the correct phrase?

anyway when i first came here, that little picture that "the rebel" hides behind, was a self portrait of a very sad man, who simply had too much knowledge.

now i feel after 7 months here, i should repaint that " avetor" give some happiness to the eyes, and a contented smile to the lips.. in short my " avetor" was a self portrait of a man with too much knowledge.
