  Were You Ever Interrogated By The Elders?

  some elders enjoy giving the business to the lowly flock thru intimidation.

  some love to ask you to enter with them into the "backroom".. of course, there were many that never had run-ins with the shepherds because they were under the radar.. did you ever get interrogatted by the elders and if so, how did it go??

  Far too many times to count in the last 30 years!

  One thing is for certain, I don't go sheepishly into that back school.

  I go in ready to pump up their blood preasure and make it as unpleasant as I can for them.

  I also record the whole thing for future use if needed.

  Of course, knowing that I'm also being recorded helps me keep my cool.

  We're all at different points in our trek through life.

  In my opinion we are all at different levels of being wrong.

  Some are just more wrong than others.

  That's why we have empirical methods for arriving at facts to support

  some sense of truth and and develop trust in what we can agree is

  is more "accurate".

  The difference of V vs. W in Hebrew is about a couple of thousand years of living and evolving through the generations.

  Latin also had the W consonantal sound and the vowel sound U and were both written V. With time in the Romance languages the consonantal W sound became a consonantal V sound like in English. In Spanish this V sound became a soft B, and today there's no difference between V and B in Spanish. I'm using these other languages to show sound development. In the Germanic language group to which English belongs, the W is mostly pronounced as a V in English not like English W.

  So what about Hebrew? The ancient Hebrew Wau became Vav overtime.

  The whole YHWH vs. YHVH is a discussion based mostly on ignorance of how Hebrew phonetics changed over time.

  Why not also discuss the Y vs. J issue? :-)))

  Did you ever see Indiana Jones jumping on the J and almost killing himself when he was spelling "God's Name"?

  In Latin the name is spelled with an I.

  What is your experience when you stop turning in time?

  for the past year or so, i've been turning in just one or two hours of service time.

  it has been mentioned to me from an elder "friend" that i'm never seen at any meetings for field service.

  i get his implication.

  Now they delete your name from the service group list.
  There was a directive from HQ that an inactive witness's
  (one who doesn't turn in time for some months in a row)
  name will be taken off the list of service groups.

  Since this list is posted on the info board (bulletin board)
  everyone in the congregation can notice that you're no
  longer in good/active standing, it's like a new way to
  mark someone by not including them in the goody-goody
  list.

  Privilege-wise you won't be able to turn in a form for
  Auxiliary Pioneering nor say something like staying at the
  Patterson Bethel Motel, attend an international DC, nor do
  RBC volunteer work.

  sometime back when the cover of the wt study edition returned to just a tower, and the km's and wt's for the month were color matched... there were rumors in the spanish language extj forum that the wts was using a german pr contractor to update its image.. the internet being the worst of all evils for the wts would they consider using a service like brandyourself, reputationchanger.com or reputation.com to whitewash its image online?.

  is there any evidence of them getting help from a pr company or rep-improvement agency?.

  That makes sense. The new NWT Bible that I thumbed through and had a chance to look at, in grey with silver edging, and hold just for a few minutes was in English. It does make sense that it would be released first in the U.S. and English speaking countries.

  GB members and some DO's and CO's were sporting these around last year.

  That was indeed a sick and twisted drama. It played with emotions and was manipulating in the extreme. Bethel knows how to pour salt on the wound! Who hasn't lost a dear one? Who hasn't witnessed the passing away of older ones in the congregation who thought they'd never grow old but live in a paradise earth? All the bologna that they used to feed us is now once again brought out, recycled bologna.

  The absence of anything really new is so obvious and it speaks volumes as to the qualifications of the current Governing Body to make any bold moves or changes except to continue to praise itself and to circle the waggons.

  reading the list of new publications I was struck by the absence of a new edition of the NWT.

  What's up with that?

  Also as most have pointed out the material being published now is mostly a regurgitation of the bland stuff they've already published in the last few years.

  There's nothing like the old deep studies of Ezekiel or Daniel, with all the types and anti-types. Once their oracle, Freddy Franz, kicked the bucket the convoluted explications of biblical prophecies dried up.
