Not exactly classics but my recent traditions are Bridget Jones Diary and Love Actually. Oh and The Sound of Music, even though I've never quite been able to figure out why it's in the Christmas rotation.

Oh and Elf...yeah I love that movie!

the first time i heard of christopher hitchens was today when his named was mentioned multiple times in the comment section of a youtube video.

after reading a brief summary of his life, it became clear that this guy was a complete douche-bag.

a very arrogant sarcastic bigoted f**k who looked down on everyone who didn't share his beliefs.

Oh dear...sorry PP, I just heard from the Big Guy and unfortunately your hope of a resurrection has been revoked until such time as you learn humility and love for your fellow man regardless of their belief system. There was extreme displeasure expressed at you taking it upon yourself to judge.

mirinda v. arizona is the landmark court case which lead to the now famous miranda admonishment/rights were are familiar with.

back in 1966 ernesto miranda was arrested for the kidnapping and rape of a 18-year-old woman.

he signed a confession after 2 hours of interrogation by the police, but was never told he had a right to remain silent or have an attorney.. miranda warning.

LeavingWT: Why Never Discuss Doctrine?

among the various helpful pieces of advice i have read here from leavingwt, i have noticed that he often tells people to never discuss doctrine with a jw.

i realize that discussing doctrine with a jw can be very frustrating, but i was wondering if there is a more far-reaching and less-obvious reason for this advice.

like is it related to some peculiar aspect of the jw mind that the average person would not be aware of?.
