The watchtower exhausts me with it's protectionism and control. Whilst they fret over these breaches they fail to appreciate that more worrying things are happening behind their backs. It is pathetic seeing as we are all dead to them what we think and do should be irrelevent to them. Their interest in us just makes us more interested in them.

When you are in the middle of an abusive situation it is very easy for you to define yourself and your options in terms of that relationship. It is very common for an abusive man to blame the wife and to have controlling behaviours. You have been bullied by this man who has mentally opted out of the relationship and even though you love him it seems a little one sided with him giving nothing back.
Take a step back, you have children who are learning about relationships from this one. What lessons are they learning? That it is ok to put up with crap because you have feelings for another person. You are worth more than that and so are they. There are no scriptual grounds for divorce in 'JW terms but there are a number of rational ones. The man is manipulative, selfish, violent and this relationship is affecting your ability to function and perform essential tasks.
Don't be passive letting this happen to you, take control for the sake of your children and get legal advice. They will give expert advice on how to proceed. Once you know what you want and what your options are then go to your husband and tell him you have started divorce proceedings and he has to find alternative living arrangements.

The fact that new Bibles will not be available for most of the borthers and sisters in the UK until January speaks more of supply issues than miscommunication. It is telling that the US brothers and sisters were treated more generously as the Bibles were printed in the US and it was easier to supply within the country.
What is the issue is the way the brothers and sisters were chosen to attend the meeting it would have been better PR for long time servants to have been honoured with an invite and new Bible rather than it being allocated in terms of rank.

I do feel sorry for those witnesses who were unable to attend as they will feel left out. It will be interesting how the Bibles compare as for a few months at least many Uk witnesses will be following along in the old Bible and changes will leap off the page in a way they wouldn't if everyone was following along in the same book.
I think the UK seems to have been left as the poor relation if other english speaking countries had a more generous approach. There has been an issue of cliques and elders families lauding it over others in some congregations and this will just make it worse. If they had waited until the DA then there would have been ample copies for everyone.
I was never that fussed about having a copy of the publication on the day of release but I know that for many it is a highlight, they will happily queue for a book that they will be giving out the next day without a fuss. It is the elderly sisters with no special status who will feel the disappointment the most.

2014 Year Text "Let Your Kingdom Come"
by scotoma inguy pierece mentioned the years text as let your kingdom come and then dropped the line "it's been 100 years since the kingdom was established in the heavens".. that was it.
wouldn't the 2013 corp meeting be the appropriate time to be discussing that milestone - instead of waiting til 2014 is 3/4 over next october.. obviously they don't want to dwell on the 100 years because it really puts the old light about the generation in a "bad light".
doesn't a centennial deserve a proper celebration?.

It depends what it poports to be. If it claims to be an accurate translation of the Bible then it is misleading. It is a translation for JWs that supports JW beliefs and introduces the name Jehovah where it never in the original manuscript. I don't want it and therefore do not feel any need to review it.

So unbelieving relatives undermine JW morals. Seems to me that their believers that practice adultery, bully the flock, shun people who do not share their beliefs, live off benefits and practice child abuse are more likely to undermine the morals of their congregations rather than the normal balanced people on the outside.
Isolation and pressure on children is a worrying development. This has been implied and baptism of pre teens has been lauded but has not been described as the norm before. The poison is that because this has been said by a member of the GB it carries more weight with the congregation. So from infancy they have to have the identity as a JW so that as juniors they can get baptised so that as teenagers they can be shunned.
I feel for witness children unable to talk about sports, or food and driven into a harsh faith before they can truly know the consequences of their choice.

Good for him that he made the effort and very unjw to purchase a religious icon. Your behaviour is a little extreme and perhaps you should think about that. Why block out the upc what is the point? Why would it even matter if you took the item back snd if you purchased it in the first place?

is 100 years a long time?
by nugget injws concept of time is definitley bizarre.
on a website recently some brothers argued that if the end didn't come for another 100 years then that was not really a long time.
jws always look at time in relation to god's supposed standard of a 1000 years being just one day but perhaps they should revise their estimates to human timescales.. human life expectancy is on average 70 to 80 years.

Human life expectancy is on average 70 to 80 years. Some may be lucky to last the full 100 years but not many. Since the advice is to remain single then this is a problem since if you die before the end then you are resurrected but do not marry.
Human fertility in women lasts 20 to 25 years for safe conception. As the organisation does not want you to have children in this system then you have to hope that it comes sooner then later since if time runs out you may never have children.
Worklife lasts around 40 to 50 years in which you need to provide for your families needs. If we are looking at 100 years then it is an old age of poverty that they have to look forward to.
If the society is pushing back it's deadline then it appears callous and inhumane to demand people sacrifice their whole lives to a cause that they cannot expect to see come to fruition in their lifetime. But then this religion does not care for the people they merely wish to continue peddling the myth for money.
Just remember for us 24hrs is one day not a thousand years and 100 years is longer than most of us have left. No generation last 200 years.
