  as soon as the children go back to school i will be busy with the isograph pens.

  as a witness i gave up my art studies and my dream of fine art because it was not appropriate for a witness.

  My husband showed some of my work to artists exhibiting in this years open studio event and I have been asked to submit work for next year. As soon as the children go back to school I will be busy with the isograph pens. As a witness I gave up my art studies and my dream of fine art because it was not appropriate for a witness. I am so pleased to be able to have the freedom to explore this again and see how my work fares in the big wide world.

  I am looking for wildlife and nature subjects so any suggestions would be gratefully received. Will be sending hubby out to take photos this weekend.

  i got disfellowshipped a few months ago as i was unrepentant in my judicial.

  your post concerns me a little. You have been df'd and are in a relationship with a non witness. You are still in a relationship but attending meetings with the hope of being reinstated in order to associate with friends and family.

  Your relationship status if discovered will prevent you being reinstated. I have to ask how fair is it to be in a relationship with someone knowing that you will have to throw them under the bus to achieve your reinstatement objective. How does your partner feel about you going back into an organisation where they will not be considered as important or relevent? I personally would be reluctant to bring another person into this mess until you knew exactly how things are likely to pan out.

  It is good to be confident but sometimes you cannot have everything your own way and you need to take the feelings of others into account.

  gosh i love wine.

  i like a good bottle of wine each night, and i have a high tolerance to alcohol, though i never drank much (except for a couple of times with the vodka, but i don't keep that stuff in the house anymore, way too dangerous) as a jw because getting slightly happy is a 'sin'.

  You are a grown up and have the authority to make your own decisions and choices. you know when you have drunk too much or been drinking too often and what you want to do.

  Drinking decent wine on a Sunday afternoon seems like a civilised way to spend the afternoon to me. Having to keep two steps ahead of the kids coupled with low tolerance to alcohol prevents me from joining you.

  if the whole disfellowshipping arrangement is from the bible, where are the scriptures that say you can appeal decisions or that if you are reproved what 'privileges' can be taken away?

  or what about the fact that any offense they want can be lumped under uncleanness and used to kick you out?.

  Brazen conduct is a much more pernicious catch all now and often cruely misapplied. There is not scripture that supports it since it is a set of rules dreamt up by men. This is why the shepherd book has so many chapters on the subject.

  i think they know what they don't believe in, like no blood, no hellfire, no trinity....but they really couldn't explain what their beliefs are and why they believe as they do.

  No they don't since the gb is very good at slipping changes in under the radar. They like to create the impression that new light isn't really new it is something that has been doctrine for a long time and not a sharp change of thought or direction. As a witness they got so much past me especially after I had the children, Jesus not being my mediator, the change to the baptism questions, changes in the generation teaching it was laughable. I was deluding myself if I thought I knew te actual doctrine.

  I was under he impression that today the GB makes decisions based on a 3 thirds majority vote. It is not a unanimous decision.

  They can't help themselves they lie and lie and lie. Not inspired but they are God's representatives. How do they even know that if God isn't talking to them. Not inspired, often wrong but believe what we say is right now even though it may change later.

  based on a letter elders in the united states have just received in the past week from the governing body, work on the warwick complex will take " a few years" to complete.

  concurrent with this, the organization urges the rank and file to urgently preach the "good news of the kingdom" because we are so deep into the end.

  so, why bother with the warwick project - or indeed the just advised project in the united kingdom to relocate the london bethel?

  It depends where you are as to whether the structure is expanding or not. Certain places are seeing the expansion of administrative buildings but other places have seen their branches close. They have consolidated and rationalised the life out of thei structure and now wish to cash in on all that prime real estate. It is after all a business.

  tonight on the service meeting we discussed why jws are not false prophets.

  of the ten minute part two were spent discussing that jws just had wrong expectations and only very minor changes over the years although nothing specific was mentioned.

  the other eight focused on the core bible truths that have remained the same over the years.

  I would buy the Watchtower argument if they implied in their publications that what they were proposing in their magazines were just hopes and expectations of men who were not inspired.

  However the magazines present their current thoughts as absolute truth and there are penalties for failing to follow and support the doctrine. They say that the men are not inspired but loyalty to those men is absolute and any doubt is also met with censure and expulsion. The GB are set up as God's representatives on Earth. How can they have such a role if God does not communicate with them? If he does communicate why all the adjustments?

  It is not ok to say that they are better people because they are in the organisation and that is what counts when they do not extend the same courtesy to others. I am a better person due to my adjustment in thinking but I am treated apallingly. They are also false in saying that witnesses have a better standard of family life, are more honest and have a positive influence on the community. The witness family life is dysfunctional with no unconditional love and the constant need to earn the place in the family. Witnesses are no more honest than anyone else but lie regularly to householders, interested people, the media and the courts to protect the reputation of the organisation. They bring nothing to the community, they have no programmes to support the disenfranchised and those struggling, Kingdom halls are not available for community use.

  If they say the words often enough the members will believe it but it is not true and is just papering over the cracks. So sad and deluded.
