Yeah they don't believe in hell, they just believe that nearly 7 billion people will be murdered by God because they didn't accept a poorly written religious magazine presented to them on their busy Saturday morning by two salesmen in cheap suits.

Why This Atheist Respects the Jehovah's Witnesses-And why other Atheists should too!
by RaustBD ini'm an atheist, and i'd like to take some time to talk about why i hold a great deal of respect for the jehovah's witnesses, and some words of encouragement that may put an end to the ridicule and disrespect you seem to get from, well, all sorts of people.. .
i never gave this kind of criticism a second thought: i knew nothing about you, and i figured you were just another fringe group of christianity.
i now feel terrible about this, and i wish to apologize for my (admittedly never spoken) disrespect.

Will the WTS ever give up on Armageddon?
by factfinder injesus died some 2,000 years ago.
how much longer will people wait for him to return?.
will the wts still preach the nearness of armageddon 100 years from now?

There really is no reason for them to give up on it, as the only reasons they change doctrine currently are monetary and legal. Armageddon doesn't fall under either of those catagories.
Armageddon is their hell fire. They go on and on about how unloving it would be for God to burn people, but they talk out of both sides of their mouth. They argue it is loving for their God to "cleanse the earth" so they can enjoy it without all of the riff-raff. Of course their cleansing includes the murder of millions of innocent children, so I say no thanks to their pipe dream paradise.

How much do you believe in God's blessings?
by stillstuckcruz inthe more i talk to the brothers and sisters, the more i question what so-called "blessings" god gives to us.
yesterday i had the #3 talk at the hall.
and because my family has that "perfect family example" status in the hall, i got all the comments about how wonderful i did and how fantastic it was for being a young man(20)....yada yada yada.

For a while at the end I didn't even bother writing out the talk or the outline. I would simply take the source material, mark up the points that I wanted to stand out and highlight the scriptures I wanted to read.
Once you have repeated the same thing hundreds of times, it becomes second nature.
As far as getting blessed by God, things finally started to improve for me when I stopped talking to him and asking him for help. Once I took full responsibility for my life and my decisions, I started to finally make some progress in life.

Has anyone left still believing it was the truth?
by FollowedMyHeart init seems that most xjws have left because at one point in their jw life something happened that made them start to think something wasn't right with the religion.
when i left, i still believed the jws had "the truth".
i was dying inside, trapped and unhappy (another poster's words, but describes exactly how i felt).

I would agree that many consiously leave like you did. Especially taking the step to DA, as most want to avoid the pain of shunning. That is why most who believe it to be the truth live a double life, hoping they don't get called to the carpet.
I would think that either the bad marriage/being gay scenario would probably be the majority that leave like this. Hopefully they mentally escape in time like you did.

Quendi said: I mean when the congregation is forbidden to even applaud when the annoucement is made and must wait until the meeting is over to extend any welcome, then that should be indication enough that the entire procedure is unchristian and unscriptural.
It is really surreal. I mean simply by announcing so-and so is reinstated, now hundreds of people will once again speak to a person, when 2 hours before they would shun them to the death if they could. The mind control is still stunning for me to comprehend at times.

Leave me alone and let me do the ministry how i want!
You will quickly find that is not what the elders allow. If that were the case, millions of JWs would use the bible alone in their ministy. The goal, however is not spreading the word of God, it is the selling and distribution of WT publications. The secondary goal is to reinforce cult ideals into the members by keeping them busy in what they are told is a life-saving work. The recruitment of new members is simply an accident that happens from time to time. Otherwise why would it take 5,000 hours plus of preaching just to result in one baptism?

Do your elders care at all?
by Mr. Falcon ini currently have an elder body who, for the most part, seems utterly complacent and disinterested in actually "shepherding" anything.
i can't tell if they are lazy or just oblivious to their responsiblities of being "teachers".
it seems like they are the last to know anything and always procrastinate on everything.

Some elders are power trippers. Some just end up there because they were good speakers and put in enough time on their monthly excel spreadsheet for Jehovah.
Neither group became elders for the express purpose of shepherding, for actually helping those who are needing spiritual, emotional, and even mental assistance. So you end up with a bunch of unqualified dudes who are more worried about making a mis-step then pouring their heart into the job.
As mentioned, they already have a job in real life, and maybe a family too.
At least most pastors and priests have been given some training in shepherding and counseling troubled individuals. The elders have one tool in their toolbox, "DO MORE" and everything will be ok.

June 15 W/T - "Should Youths Get Baptised?"
by sizemik inthe above mentioned article caught my eye for a couple of reasons .
.. it is obvious to most observers that the children of active jw's provide a potential "large army" and in spite of the attrition rate of jw youths (around 2/3's i believe), it's a resource the borg are keen to maximise.
there tactics appear to be encouraging baptism at an ever younger age.

Its a disgusting set of articles all around. The kid in the pictures is like 10 years old. They turn these into mini cult members and deny them a real childhood. Its not enough that they take birthdays, holidays, and "worldly friends" away from them, they make them go sell literature on the weekend too.
They are forcing these kids into baptism early so that when they grow up they are trapped in the cult. Then if they choose their own life, they lose their family, at least all of the ones that are JWs, so that will be at least the parents in most cases. Too many are making it into their late teens without getting baptized, then walking away without the full shunning consequence. So the solution from the WT is to break up more families by getting them to commit while young and innocent, then kicking out the ones that decide to leave when they wisen up.
And yes, they are now using the parents as tools in their scheme. The whole family worship night is another tool to pressure the kids. No doubt the GB will be encouraging parents to "study" this article with kids during the family worship night.

Gas Prices Not Cooperating with Governing Body "Arrangement"
by LostGeneration inwe all know how the governing body has "lovingly arranged" for 30 hour aux pioneering in april.
but oil prices are going up, and $4 a gallon gas will probably be here by memorial day, and $5 gas by the summer.

Oil hits 2 1/2 year high...just in time for April. You would think Jehovah would lessen the burden on his people.
