out of the blue, my wife told me that after this week's service meeting on friday (co visit) she is not going to anymore meetings during the week at night.

only sunday (am) meetings.

she explained that it is difficult and not safe for her to drive after dark (vision issues: i have the same problem so i couldn't help her if i wanted to).

I'd say just make it something she enjoys and won't want to give up to go back to the meetings. Make sure she isn't bored and she will never regret her decision.

I don't understand the psyche of JW

the majority have good jobs,drive newer vehicles,have nice homes,go on vacations.all in all they have the smarts.. however,rwhen it comes to their religion,they are dummer than a sack of hammers.they drive around in circles to get two hours of service time.they can't differentiate what the fds/gb say is from jehovah god,when in reality it is the stuff that comes out of a horses ass.what the horse eats(as it were food at the proper time from the gb) comes out of the horse as manure(shit sounds better) as a loving provision from jehovah.. .

IQ has nothing to do with whether a person is in a cult.

Primal fears, such as dying and losing all of your friends and family drive obedience to the leaders of the religion. If you can alleviate a cultists fears, you can get them to look at things in a more objective manner.

a graph shows group 1 being fred franz john barr etc...with a group 2 consisting of the current young faithful slaves we "met" the "group ones.

Could it be the number of jw under 5 million?

i was thinking about this last night, in the year book they publish the number or peak and average publishers.

as we know a publisher could simply be a child getting out in service regularly.

if two parents baptized have to small children that are publishers then they are counted as four.

As Londo states, the only number that matters is baptized each year. Well, the partakers number is there for the amusement of the apostate community.

All the rest can be manipulated to the orgs benefit one way or another.

it wasn't my preferred method of leaving but at least i'm as far as i can be from this cult.

over 2 years ago i've tried to fade out but i guess i did it too drastically.

i live in nyc so the entire territory is walkable and everybody in the congregation live pretty close by.

I believe this to be true, by quitting you activate brain cells in some JWs who are curious. Sometimes they know something is wrong on a subconscious level but they don't/won't think about it until they see that others also recognize the problem. A few have told me personally that they left and I had an indirect role in doing so. I was DFd and it was widely known the reason why (apostasy).

Sitting in the hall for years on end when you don't believe it only helps perpetuate the lie.

my guess is, god gets bored.. armageddon's over, the earth has been cleansed, only his sycophants have survived.

all is perfect.

Likely the people get bored first. If they actually have free will, they will start experimenting with Mary Jane, and of course alcohol.

How much alcohol will a person be allowed in the new order before they are 'sinning'? Or will they be allowed to form competitive sports leagues, or even play board games competitively? Or, as Data Dog mentions, a little sexual experimentation - will that be allowed? We all know how much God dislikes Oral already!

You can only take so many picnics on the rolling green grass hills of paradise before you want to take your own life out of sheer boredom.
